I was with you until 'Think Positive', but lost at the later stanza.
My advise would be to go back if nothing works out within the first 5 years, and in the absence of a better plan.

Advantages of living in India (From Murali's perspectibe only):
1. JObs are available in plenty for professionals like Engineers / doctors
2. Stock market is booming. Secondary income.
3. Rising RE prices
4. Cheaper cost of living.
5. Standard of living has come up high. Lot of restaurants. I can eat Indian, korean, chinese, malaysian, American etc..
6. Liquor is cheap.
7. Education is cheap. Maids in plenty.
8. Lot of time for girl friends. Now is 2014, girls and boys spend equally on each other.
9. Nice malls, movie theatres etc..
No use living the Canadian dream unless you land in a decent job within 6 months of landing. Otherwise a waste. IMHO.

My comments are as under:
Positive thinking is good as long as ur thinking is in right direction. In my view one should always have Plan-2 in case Plan -1 is not working. ( Plan -1 is settle in Canada happily and Plan -2 may differ for person to person). My intention to migrate to Canada was to get good quality of life and provide good education to my kids which did not happen in my case, so I have implemented Plan-2 ( Back to India) and I am very much happy, though the quality of life is not up to the mark ( High pollution and corruption in public life). But in Canada I was not having any life, forget about the quality in it. So some thing is better than nothing!

I guess the more cosmopolitan the city i (like B'lore, Delhi, Mumbai), your standard of living / salary / benefits will go higher but you will be subjected to corruption and Pollution.
I live in the capital city of Kerala and enjoby both. High standard of living and nature at my door steps with a world famous beach just minutes away.

I am in Hyderabad. Corruption and pollution is there every where in India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. One more big problem is attitude, everybody thinks that rules are meant for others and not for him.
