Garvo,
For business schools you could defintely check out: http://www.businessweek.com" rel="nofollow">LINK and proceed thru with the school comparator feature to get an idea on how Canadian schools fare out with top US Schools.
Obviously, I would go with a top US bsuiness school or London School of Economics, over Canadian schools . Simply becoz its more universally accepted, more well-known globally with more potential for salaries and ROI.
On a different note, I have a question for the forum participants. Being Canadian and everything, I ended up doing my Bachelor's and Master's in the US. Also, worked in the US for the last 4 years, so how would I fare out for employment in Canada? I have some networking thru friends in Canada, trying to get a feel for my potential prospects if any.
Thanks.
Sid M.

Bull shit! You don't get into a top MBA program to be somebody's Research Assistant (RA) - being a world famous professor's bitch doing research. For that you get into an MS or better yet Phd. program researching away!
What you would do though in an MBA, on top of studying around the clock, gain and practice leadership skills, learn and work with peer students and faculty, work on real life consulting projects often sponsored by companies hiring students upon graduation.
Quality of faculty and classes are very important but also even in this day of Globalization, having a professional degree from a competitive American Univesity surpasses Canadain schools I am afraid. Most would go with an equivalent UCLA or Cornell MBA grad over U of Toronto any day, everything else being the same. Seen it in real life and agree to a great extent, its cliche.......... So is life!
i would be really glad to learn if there are any desis whose MBAs from back home or for that matter Mcmaster or Harvard have landed them in juicy jobs in Canada
the impression i hv got is desis hv got good jobs in s/w, graphic design but not heard of many who r well placed or in top management position in mncs here
im sure their must be some but want to know the tightly guarded scret of their success at jobs
