We are moving to Canada soon. I wanted to know the scope for jobs in companies like ABB, Siemens, Schneider etc. in low voltage switchgear field. Any one out there working in one of these companies?

I regularly deal with sales/technical reps from the companies you mentioned. There is a very good electrical manufacturing market in GTA. Many of these companies have service offices in Alberta serving the Oil and Gas industry.
Thanks for your reply..we are going to land in Toronto. Any idea which agencies deal with recruitment for these companies? We have tried workopolis but no openings at the moment. If there are recruitment firms,we can try sending the resumes.
Also can someone advise whether we can land in October / November? Will it be possible to get admissions for 8 yr old in 3rd std? We are going to stay with my sister initially so don't have to start from scratch. Will winter be ok or we shd wait till April 2005?

One more advise needed...are there any electrical manufacturing industries in Vancouver..we would prefer to stay in Vancouver than Toronto.

Last thing to worry about is school in Canada. It's always open door policy at any time of the year (I hope this is true for GTA).
Vancouver - nothing much for elect mfg.
If there is job they will advertise on their website and newspapers (companies like ABB, Siemens). Most of the time they don't go through agencies.
