Who will be the next PM of India in 2014?
The race is about to begin and India will have its next Prime Minister in 2014. But who will be the next PM of India, is the question everyone is asking. The main opposition party, BJP, has fielded Narendra Modi as their prime ministerial candidate, whereas Congress has yet not declared it.
The last two general elections in 2004 and 2009 were lost by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Options at present are the BJP, the Congress, their alliances, or a third, fourth or fifth front. But the main place is either of Congress or BJP.
Points favouring Modi
•There is a nationwide wave favoring Modi because of his impressive speeches on his work in Gujarat.
•Narendra Modi is seen as an able and efficient administrator.
•For business tycoons, Modi is a political enforcer who can push business to a great level. He works on the model of ‘decentralisation of planning and empowering people’.
•Under the governance of Modi, nearly 18,000 villages in the state have been electrified.
•Gujarat is home to many tribes, and yet dissenters like Naxalites have not been able to create an impact.
•His assertive, confident and decisive speeches give hope. India needs a confident leader who can stand up for the country. Modi is also a good listener and knows his task of processing information.
Points against Modi
•The disgrace of 2002 riots associated with him is still there. Though he has proved himself as an able administrator but many people cannot separate him from those riots. All the investigations have given green signal, but only last year Maya Kodnani, one of his former ministers, has been sentenced to 28 years in jail because of her involvement in killing 97 people in Naroda Patiya. Political observers also say that it might happen that party might get less votes from Muslims and moderate Hindus.
•Though we see huge crowds in every rally of Narendra Modi, it is not sure that whether it will translate into votes. In the general elections of 2009 also, he was a major crowd-puller but could not secure many votes. Modi had campaigned both in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, but BJP lost in Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
Will Rahul Gandhi be the next Prime Minister of India?
Another plausible candidate for the position of Prime Minister is Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. So, speculations are rife on whether Rahul Gandhi can be the next PM of India. Rahul Gandhi represents young India and youth. But so far, he has no political achievements and is yet to prove himself as a leader. He also has no experience in governance.
Indian now needs a leader who has a vision to lead India, a vision that is the result of his or her experience.
Who do you think should be the next PM of India?

Neither..it will be another puppet of Congress led alliance with Mulayam, Mamata, mayawati, Laloo, chaloo...etc. like how MMS is currently leading. May be MontekSingh Ahluwalia and Rahul will take over reins from Sonia and legacy continues. Did someone just say Bianca of Vadhera-Gandhi-Khan?

in the number games congress has 5 fingers and a palm to do calculations. They been doing well in mathematics.
in surprisingly all over Media only NaMo in news, rally, meetings, speech in public places etcc...
looks like Indian Publid doesn't want to listen anyone else from BJP side at all.,
only NaMo everywhere....
RBO,
It's not about whether the Public do/don't want to listen to anyone else. It's Modi all over because the BJP strategically placed him as such. Looks like he's one man party/army right now. I must commend his PR machinery. I am sure Public would happily (or not) listen to whomsoever is on the podium. The Party (BJP) is desperate to come to power (who wouldn't?), and right now they know who can elevate them, and help filling the coffers.
But, I understand your enthusiasm and goose bumps everytime you hear about Modi.
On the personal front, I don't find him or his so-called oft-recurring speeches, jingoism, and rhetoric all that appearling. Just not my kind of leader that he is. I am all for Sushma, Jaitley, Jaswant Singh, Yashwant Sinha, Vajpayee, but I get a jittery feeling everytime I hear Modi. To me, this Modi guy looks and sounds quite a fake. It will be interesting to see what would he do or achieve during his tenure, if in case he comes to power. My family, including me of-course always voted for BJP, but this time around they are losing the plot. Only time will tell.
I think BJP lost after Vajpayee.
