A lot of problem with immigrants is that they think that local Canadians are superior and that you should not lie and all. But once you get into the system, you will find that it is very common here. Also Canadian go by reference and not talent. So you need not worry !!!

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry tk I'm against lying on resume, short term success is really not going to help one in the longer run. As dimple and proud canuck have mentioned background check is a norm these days. One will get a reference only if one has talent.
Dimple - I will forward my resume, thanks for the help.

Some people never learn until they are burnt.

I have seen some postings ( especially in IT ) where 3 years experience in certain technology is a pre requisite even though it's around for a year only .
If you don't mention 3 years experience your resume is never picked even to be interviewed .

Lot of talented people dont get a chance to show their talent as they could not gain entry to begin with .

Most of us include keywords that are posted as job requirement just to be picked atleast for an interview .

Please do not see above it as advocating lies on your resume .

Good one Ashwani !
Some people have to bear the brunt of the Canadian winter before they come to their senses.

What seems to be grinding your bitterness with "some people"?

Using keywords that matches resume and job description is not lying as long as the candidate has experience in those areas. A lot of us forget to mention those keywords and instead, ramble with wordy statements. Instead, usage of those keywords puts the resume on the top, especially when the initial screening is done by software.
