Hello everyone,
3 nights ago we heard loud scratching and then running noises from roof. It got quiet after few minutes. I am not sure what it was. I thought whatever it was probably left. But last night I heard the running sound again. It is my first such experience so I have no idea what it is. I don't think it is mice as I have'nt seen them running around in the house....nor I have seen any grocery disturbed or dropping anywhere. I don't hear any noise during the day...its only at night.
I am too scared to open the attic to check out. Can anyone suggest what to do? I want to get this sorted today as I don't want to them to multiply in my house.

Untill you know what it is , how can you get rid of it !
Have your husband look in attic if you are too afraid .
Remedy for raccoons : take long green fresh chilly . Cut them in hald and spread all over your roof . In no time they will be gone permanently .

You said There is running sound !, the pattern will define who is it !

Slow movements ...thak........thak .........tha..... might be your husband !!
Since you said it stops after some time , somebody with low stamina for sure...now making the guess should be easy !!

Cool Girl ... Just take it it eazy ... Most likely they are squirrels or possibly mice.
Unless you are ready to spend good money ... do not worry too much about it .... they go away soon ... and again may keep coming.
Have some one look into the roof and observe carefully ...
A gap of 3 months mean two things
- It might not be a sound coming from Attic but from the roof. Usually if Raccoon are there on the roof you can see clear sings of wears and their excrement.
- Whatever it is might have created / used an opening to go in and out of the attic. Try checking for any such opening.
