An appeal to Indian voters for 2014 election

Indian public has been badly letdown by corrupt political leaders. Hopelessness and sense of being knocked down is natural outcome of widely prevailing corruption. It is time to accept the reality of corruption and do our best. In the scenario when no political party is free of corruption, I appeal to voters to judge the party which is less corrupt and bring it to power. If we are successful in bringing to power a party which is even 10% less corrupt than other, we will be making our country richer by billions of rupees. This act would be as charitable as donating blood and more charitable than donating millions of rupees to the country.
So although badly knocked down , it is for you to stand up and fight. Nobody else will.
With regards,
(B.J. Gupta)

True.
As I see Indian's have limited options.
Modi is seen as a tyrant and a persecutor of minorities even by many Hindu's and he may not get votes.
Congress is lethargic.
AAP has its precense only in Delhi.

Personally I would prefer Modi with a cavet that he could be impeached anytime, he tries anti minority tactics.
But I am Canadian. I canot vote in India.

Peace by Murali

"Dhobi Ka Kutta, Na ghar Ka, Na Ghat Ka"

Tk cannot vote and decide Indian electoral outcome as he is Canadian and cannot vote in Canada as I doubt he would travel to Canada just to vote. Poor chap>

By the way, there was a report of millions of fraud voter cards being discovered in Delhi and AP (Now Telangana). If you are keen to decide future of your beloved country(I presume that your love of motherland pulled you to go back), you can contact any Bangladesh guy and he would help you get voter ID. I heard it costs just Rs. 500 to get one. If you contact any secular party like congress, SP, Muslim League, Akbar ali Owaisi or Trnamool Congress and prove that you are a "secular Muslim" from Bangladesh, they arrange voter ID free! Wow!

If the BJP is really interested in making a change, they should not wait till they come to power but should have started even when they are in the opposition.

Their stand on 2 recent issues were disappointing. One was on the entry of goondas into legislatures and the other, political parties declaring their source of funds under RTI.

On both they went along with the parties united as United Plunderers Association and are currently ruling, making the common man wonder "Are Modi and BJP going to be any different"?

If BJP wants to do good to the people when they come to power, they should not allow people like MMS, Chidambaram or Montek Singh anywhere near 100 kms of Delhi. Ministers and key persons involved in scams of United Plunderers Association must be put behind bars and tried by fast courts. They may be pardoned with lesser punishments, if they bring back the 1000s of crores deposited in tax havens. If BJP is not doing any of these and goes the Vajpayee way viz a viz Bofors, they will become no different than the UPA.

People wishing good for the country have no other choice but to keep pipe dreaming.

Indian Voters ( sensible ones, without any herd mentality ! ) do have a choice ::

" refuse to vote for a tainted soul " do it never.. If nobody good in the area do not vote , reject them all and appeal to EC to give ticket to somebody better. But then hindus will chose a hindu and muslims will chose a muslim and will fight. Religion is sucking our country dry.

AAP is a good choice for the time if there is a candidate in your area but seems like swaraj is a difficult subject for Indians who cannot live without raja-praja & bramin-shudra setup.

Please explain how to do this. I am sure there are millions of Indians wanting to do it, but cannot - since the constitution has no such provision.

You can cast a reject vote, but that will help the other goondas with whatever fewer votes they get - but EC cannot offer any candidate on its own.

It is only under proposal, unlikely to be implemented in the near future.

I think you guys are not being fair to democracy and Indian voters. Just because you do not like the outcome, you critisize the maturity of Indian voters. They have proved themselves by defeating bad governmentsat the state level and at the centre by democratic process.

It should be appreciated that Indian voters have consistently elected secular governments and rejecting hardcore Hindutva people like Modi. Shikh PM , Christian super PM, Dalit CMs and host of Muslim Cabinet ministers/CJ etc are proof of voter maturity.

AAP is a fraud party which talks big because they know they will never assume power.

I doubt about maturity of indian voters . Why do they vote for regional parties in parliament election? Regional parties like SP/BSP/DMK/AIDMK/TDP/BJD/RJD-LALLU / JDU ..... ETC.. should not be voted for parliament election . You talk about maturity of india voters .. they are sold by liquor , money and now by food security bill ...

Indian electorate, Mature? Are you sure you don't want to retract this statement? If they had been mature, they wouldn't have elected Currupt, High handed, Communal, Uneducated, and goon Netas since the Independence. Ever heard of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mulayam Singh, Thakreys, and the likes? There are many more, but they hog the list and limelight. They have been elected, not once, but many a times by your so-called 'Mature' electorate.

When a goon like Raja Bhaiya gets more seats and Power using their high handedness, muscle power, and money, then your mature junta deserve very much of what's going on in the dirty politics of India. When the ones that divide people on the race, region, and caste get selected, this very muture junta deserve whatever is wrong with the system.

I don't have the stats, but roughly speaking, 50% of the folks don't vote, young voters don't care, and educated people are all busy having a great time on the voting 'holiday'. How can you seek the change in the system? First, change people's mindset, make them worthy of asking for the change, have an educated and aware society. Then and only then the change prevails. But, that's a wish list, and a daydreaming - sadly even after 66 years of independance.

Congress, despite of so many scandals and curruption, I am sure will come back. That's the irony of India. This very Party, having so many bad press and PR (for all the right reasons) will sure bounce back. How? You ask your 'Mature' electorate.

What is the choice then? Unfortunately, I don't know. Neither does the 'aam aadmi'. May be, vote for the new AAP. Others have looted for the last 66 years, so give them a chance as well. We are anyway fond of being robbed day in and night. AAP at the very worst could cement our beliefs further. There won't be any suprises, trust me.

Change is imminant, but unfortunately for India Change implies getting an 'old Desi Daroo in a new bottle and flavour'. General public was drunk before and will always be.

Call me a cynic, but you show me something positive in Indian Politics and System, and I will not even wink before taking my views back. It is a flawed democracy in limbo.
