Thanks Dhaikin .

Im maintaining a good car in India. With very good life style + savings + other company perks .

I have the doubt with this sal can I maintain the same ?

As I wont get a car initially due to rules/regulation , A typical situation , if some of my family member got sick , am I going to use public transport .. or if heavy snowfall happen and public transport is not close by , do I/my family first go to bus stop and go for grocery shopping , sounds horrible.

It means If I dont have car Im in trouble situation, if I rent a car it is 600$ monthly expense .

You can have a chauffeur and a full time maid easily in India with 1 Lkh/month salary but not in Canada with 90K annual. Consider this fact too before you make your mind.

Why are you so concerned about the money and life style. You are coming to Canada on a work permit. So come to Canada and if you like then apply for PR. That's what I did. I am not in IT and was offered 90 K in 2008. I liked the way of life in Canada and decided to apply for PNP. My office supported me and sponsored me.

Life is not easy in Canada but then there is more to life than money. You have to balance and find that sweet spot which is good for you and your family's present and future.

I d say 90 K is a good salary to come and experience Canada .. You will definitely be able to save more here , live a better life style if you factor in cleanliness , good roads , pollution free environment and stress free life .

Yes you will have to do your own chores - driving , clothes , dishes etc though there is equipment for everything to help you with and except ironing clothes every things else is a breeze (personally speaking)

Mississauga & the GTA is a very good place socially to settle down in and is climatically moderate relatively .

I am assuming the following break down for a comfortable lifestyle for 3 ..

Rent : 1200
Utilities : 100-150
Grocery : 400-500
Car : 500-600 incl insurance and cost of capital )
100-200 : eating out

I would budget $2500 per month for the above ..

Insurance depends if you go for just third party liability insurance or comprehensive insurance for your car . Just third party liability insurance for a new comer can be as cheap as 200/month..comprehensive can be much more.

Initially don't bother with a car , getting a full license and all is a tedious and long and expensive process over here , with lot of people failing the initial tests ..as they are very strict about safety and driving over here , unlike India :)

Are you kidding, $250/month, wake up man, don't day dream & misguide people. &
$200 for insurance - depends on your driving license, insurance history, tickets (which you can very easily get - cops are advised by the municipalities to issue more tickets to cover their budget shortfall), type of car, make of car, family members with driving license (no of drivers), distance to work/ commute, etc, etc.

Old car will have maintenance issues, & new car will have its own cost - you will have a bill either ways..

I suggest "The lifestyle you have for Rs 1lakh a month income, will be compromised if you get the $$ income you mentioned".

You are the only one day dreaming and are ignorant ..not me , so open your eyes.

I am talking about a Kia or a Hyudai on 84 month financing , not BMW or Mercedes ..you can easily get that on 250/month ..check their website and find out for yourself..before opening your mouth and making a fool of yourself.

I am talking about third party liability insurance NOT Comprehensive insurance ..do you even know what third part liability insurance is ? From your misguided and ignorant post you apparently don't

I have personally done all the above ..so I know what I am talking about , unfortunately you DON'T.

As far as used cars are concerned , you get well maintained and certified used cars over here , which are very good in shape and well maintained ..this isn't India..so very little issues with used cars over here. Don't try to scare the OP with your ignorant drivel.

See the price of a brand new 2013 Hyuadai below .

You make Zero downpayment and financing is only 0.99 % and monthly payment is only 220/month for 72 months. If you make some downpayment your monthly cost will be even less.

This is without bargaining and negotiating . You can reduce the price further and get 0 % financing also. This same car gets reduced in Nov and Dec as the 2014 models start coming out.

So don't let any fool tell you that you can't get a brand new car in Canada for 250/month ..here you are getting it for 220/month :)

Just to clarify : You cannot have 3rd party insurance on financed car. They need to be covered by comprehensive insurance only.
