Hi all,
I am looking for seed to make Yogurt at home. I live near Derry and Mavis, Mississauga.
If someone could lend me a little home made dahi, I shall be really greatful.
Thanks
Are you looking for Canadian dahi or Indian dahi.
Just go buy a yogurt cup and use that...and keep using that over and over again
I know some people have jaman from India, it seems the taste is different

Here is a small explanation with pictures. It is just like what the previous poster said... Get some from the yogurt cups that you buy in the market. (Not with fruits or flavoured like vanilla etc.,) and add a very small amount of that yogurt. The culture within this yogurt multiplies and provides you with the home made taste that you are looking for. If it is not to your taste, the next time buy a different brand and see if it is to your liking.

If you find that you like it, then save a few spoons for the start of the next batch.

I think OP is looking for indian culture which has different texture and taste. Long time ago, I got it from Hindu Sabha Temple's kitchen.
