Is it possible to change the PR application category from FSW to CEC

Hello Guru's,
I'm working in Canada since last 2.5 years. I filed my PR application an year ago under arranged employment category. So far I haven't heard anything back from CIC except the initial assessment which was positive.
Now that CIC has revised the requirement for Canadian Experienced class from 2 yrs to 1 year and from what I hear from people that CEC is the fastest category so far (is it true?).
I'm tempted to change the application category to CEC. What are my options?
* Is there a way to change the category on the existing application?
* If not, can I apply in parallel for CEC category without withdrawing earlier application?

* YES. If you abandon the first process.
* NO. Not in Parallel. Only sudden death. The cloning process does not work.
They will not take the fees that you paid into one process and apply it into the next. So, you loose.
Only if you pay a second set of fees to get you into a different queue they will look into it. But they will abandon the first one at that time. Will that get you in Faster? Mmmm Let me see...
NO, so stay put and enjoy the ride. They are speeding up all of these process currently and you should have your PR application processed within the next year.

You do the following.
1. Complete all the new forms for CEC and file your application with required fees.
2. Once you have the file number ...... drop the dole application.
Your old application may take another 16 months from now to go to medicals.
Your new application should be done in 9 to 12 months.
We have done many cases like that.

You are now working through FSW application and your papers are being processes through this scheme. You know the skill level at which you are operating and at the current speed it should come up to the top in 14 months.
All of your clearances are accepted in this scheme and it is in process.
