This is nothing but utter non sense. Nobody qualified to suggest Sachin Tendulkar on retirement: Viv Richards.

The senior Indian batsman is the best person to decide on his retirement and should continue as long as he wants period

:(

Katju's comment is absolutely right because people like you really exist

Ponting , Waugh , Kallis ,Dravid , Arvinda , Imran , Botham , Kapil , lara , Sangakkara have awesome records & achievements greater than anybodoy. Their achievements look even greater when you realise that they did not get entry at the age of 16 , did not play for 23 yearsdid not enjoy the patronage of their boards , did not have the guarantee of not being dropped if failed & had destroyed opposition in their own backyard. Still they wewre graceful enough to call it a day when they realised that younger generation needs to be handed over the baton. That is why people respect them .
They or their supporters did not urge anybody to respect

where is casteism, communalism, superstitions etc in Sachin's retirement issue ? geeze !

It is stupidity (read moronity ) to make reference of Katju's comment on this topic (i.e. cricket).

A few (in Sachin's case read as more than few) setbacks do not take away anything that the little master has done for the country.

While reading your comment, I felt like listening to a typical Indian cricket fan--When things go right, we celebrate and when they go wrong, we become pundits and come out with all sorts of facts, data, stats and what not.

He is and will continue to remain the man who redefined the sport of cricket in this country. As rhetorical as it might sound, he knows best. Let's not be armchair-quarterbacks and decide for the great man. It's a decision that should be best left to him.

Above comment represent the majority class mentioned by Judge Katju .........................

Off course Sachin is senior and he is the best person to decide about his retirement no argue on that point but BCCI is not bound to follow his decision . Selectors can drop him after successive bad performance . There are lots of younger players waiting for a entry into the team .
Sachin is not above cricket . In one of the interview he said that it is selfish to retire when you are performing good . So He should follow his quote ... he is not performing well and should go ...

Have you read why he made his comment ? If not please read.

If some one really wants to misuse his statement than there is not much scope for discussion which will end in personal attacks and nothing else.

Everyone has their opinion. If you agree well and good. If not, no issues. But still make no sense to drag irrelevant comment, which is made in altogether different context. We will loose the the purpose discussion board.

So India starts losing and Sachin becomes the punching bag ?? idiot Indians !

Consider Sachin as just another player available to play, In case he is not performing well, Board or selection committee is at mistake for selecting him. He should be selected on merit. Guess what? he is actaully selected on merit out of 30 probables, since there is still no player to take his position, and Dravid gone, few other injured, he was made to team.

Not performing ? Drop him from team !! let him perform at domestic level if he wants to play mre else he will decide to retire. Not dropping a non performing player ? idiot Indians !!

Do not select him for pak tour, will you ? Do we have a player to replace him ?

The thing is he is too good a player to be replaced and left out. It is our misfortune that he (infact whole team) could not do well against England. By attacking only Sachin we are letting other player go scott free for their mistakes. So do the rigth selection , drop inconsistent players for pak tour, and show that we are not idiots !

Perhaps, I myself would like Sachin to play till 2015 WC. (idiot me !)

;-)

I absolutely agree with you. Very nice and succinct conclusion.

Every indians proud of what sachin achieved so far and really are keeping in high mode no doubt. But it doesn't mean that just becuase of his centuries made three years before or four year before we can't play the match to loose and we are playing the matches to win not make record holders to play. Please take the example Mr.Ponting (I personally feel irrespective scores scored by him, he is more talented that Sachin) how he has quit the game with a dignified manner and take example of Mr.Dravid how has quit the game with dignified manner like that we would like to see sachin the saying good bye to the game in dignified manner in order to make space for youngster. This is an humble request to Mr.Sachin please make way for youngster.

sachin & kangress

Both has lot of similarity.
Sachin is a congress man in Rajya Sabha.
Both Sachin and Congress are non performers.
Both had lost the touch ie Congies with people and Sachin with batting.
Both are utterly shameless inspite of miserable failures.
What to say about Tendulkar. What a downfall in the eye of Cricket fans.I am sure by continuing to play cricket his image is hitting rock bottom and he is terribly selfish. He will be a miserable failure and his only achievement if he continues will be blocking the career of one cricketer
