Is a SAM club membership required for purchases / tire installation? Also, who can we ship the tires to for installation? Can we order them online from a 3rd party website and ship them to SAMs club?

Yes, SAM club membership is required, I used my friends.
Also, they do not install outside tires, only those bought from SAM's Club. The ones I installed at SAMs were bought club.

I had shipped my tires from DiscountTireDirect.com to a garage called 24 Hr Auto owned by Mike in Niagara Falls. He has lots of positive reviews - checkout this redflagdeals thread :

Let me know if you need any further info.

Anytime Sirji...

Just to clarify the size I had on my car was not very common to find - only costco there was only 1 option and cost was $173.xx + installation + hst per tire. I found more options online for $93.xx + free delivery upto Niagara falls, no tax. I paid $60.00 for installation the total was $436 + driving to Niagara falls as compared to $933.xx from Costco.

Just go to the website and keep an eye for specials. Many brands keep coming with special rebates.

Just out of curiosity, was the costco brand and the brand you purchased for $500 less, same or different?

Also check out Simply Tire in Toronto (Finch/Keele). They always seem to have the best price with free installation. RFD has Simplytire groupbuys once or twice a year.

No. Costco had just 1 brand available for the size I needed (I believe it was Michelin only). I bought the Kumho brand from DTD. They are all seasons.

Black Friday is a pretty good time to get tires installed too.

Sears (US) usually has great deals on Black Friday (200 Goodyear rebate + another 100 bucks Sears rebate) and I basically got 4 high quality tires installed for 400 bucks (taxes included). Same thing would've easily cost me twice that much here in Canada with taxes. The one I got was a Goodyear ComforTred Touring All season, has a pretty high rating on tirerack.com.

A bit of research (and a trip to the US) does make a huge difference when purchasing tires in my experience.

Just returned from Walmart - they are offering Douglas / Firestone tires for 102$ each - with rotation per 10k km, repairs, etc. (total 133 per tire with balancing, env. fee, taxes, etc etc).

Anyone has had experience with the brands mentioned above? Are they better than Kumho, Nankang, Falken etc?
