Hi,
I like to eat goat meat but I am not sure what good goat meat is, especially here in Canada.
I go to different butchers and I am not sure how fresh the meat is; if there is too much fat. And the meat taste different. I tried goat meat from No Frills and it smelled.
Can anyone here give me some pointers on how to buy good goat meat?
Thanks.
Look for some desi stores..if you are from Pak..then Halal is the only option you may prefer but if you are not strict on halal standards then get meat from a desi populated area whether its Don Mills (if you are in Toronto city area) or Fraser street or Surrey if you are in Vancouver . I remember I had tough times too when searching for quality meats. Hope this helps

I was hoping to get some pointers as to how to tell if the meet is good, it is not stale or has too much fat in it, etc.
Never go to Warraich Meats in Brampton to buy meat or food, I have never seen any place un-hygenic than the meat stores, they handel raw meat and cooked food without washing their hands.
Also the owner Sam is very rude and say whatever we sell the customers will buy even garbage, that audacity - God help the customers.

First give us your location.
Assuming that you are in the GTA, Nadir stores (Hurontario and Dundas street west in Mississauga) is a famous place to buy meat. Try it out.
I used to buy there when I was in Canada.

the best is "maharaba food store" in Danforth and victoria (oppposite staples). Ask them baby goat. the only thing is that you have to buy half of the same. But it is much delicate and tastier than the australian, new-zealand big goats.
