Do you have a walkway in front of your townhouse? Yes? Then if i am not wrong you have to keep the grass from street to walkway part as per the city rules.
Desi pros, correct me if i am wrong. I just heard abt this part.

Anyway it is your curb side, try out different things/themes. At the most it will look ugly for a year or 2 but once you get it, you will be happy to spend time (and money as well).
I like annuals over perennials it is litte bit more money but gives choices. lots of Marigold and zania always looked good though. Also these flowers comes in handy during Dussera
Thanks Peacock and Bhoothnath... I have a fairly new house.... So I too have gone/going through this process.....
As regards annuals and perrenials... I have set a rule for myself..... All perrenials in the ground.... All annuals in the pot..... In this case....each year the pots come out.... Or not if you are not up to it.....plus you can move the plants around depending on the occasion.....and for versatility.....
