Hope he does not give tickets to those disgruntled netas from other parties who cant get tickets. How team Anna handles political compulsions would be interesting to watch.
They don't have a real platform, except the Lokpal bill. Now that Anna has disbanded the team, it will to be seen how they emerge with some substantial numbers in polls. Middle class votes as well as having only one real platform are not enough to sustain in the complex Indian democracy anyway.
It will be interesting to see the (now disbanded) team Anna's strategy to Political onboarding.
Believe me, for I will be the most happiest person to see the hotshot Kiran Bedi, General Singh, and the people alike own the political podium some day. But, we need to be realistic here and shouldn't float in the daydreaming.
And, what if they will become short of seats? Would there be the coalition with other parties? And, how they make sure their 'Anticurruption' platform stands afloat. How would they inforce their agendas on the parties they will go in coalition with? Believe it or not - coalition is the norm of the day. Having an utmost majority is not that simple and a cakewalk.
As said, it's not as simple. Every party has been galloping the tune of 'Mehngai, Garibi, Education, etc.' promises since independence.
I don't want to keep sounding as a cynic, but anti-curruption and curruption abolition however great they sound require India to do a 360 degrees turn. Again, it sounds good on paper. You, me, and everyone else know how HARD it is.
Forming a govt. is a number game. 2 yrs is too less a time to bring up 2-300 leaders. its a daunting task, not impossible though !
They should write letters to Retired Army officers, judges, social activists, IAS and corporate leaders with clean image to come forward and stand for their respective locations and people. One such well publicised gathering can do wonders and gather support from people and can bring panic in congresses/bjps.
hopefully that is what VK Singh said to Team Anna !
His party will have limited appeal, probably restricted to urban pockets(mainly the upper and lower middle classes).
Caste affiliations, regional alliances, some economic issues(like inflation), religious pandering etc will override all other concerns. Shockingly poor governance will not make any difference to the electoral outcome.
Then there is the Congress brahmastra, rigged EVM's.
