How about putting relevant titles to your post e.g: Info needed on animation courses in canada..? This will help
1) you get answers sooner and 2)anybody else searching on this board, in the future , with a similar query.
19K USD!!!! ouch!!!!! You give me that amount and I'll take a sabattical from my job for a cpl of months and come to India to teach you .
Now I'll make my answers a bit more useful:
1)Van arts in Vancouver is a good place for a 3d artist to graduate from...I've seen some good work from some of their students. I also know some people who teach there(if only via e-mail).
2)About jobs...depends on your show reel...but let me tell you..you can probably expect it to be doubly difficult for for you than it is for the thousands of other graduates(from similar schools) who are already in Canada willing to work for free in this industry.
3) Part-time jobs while studying...check with your school...some others(Nishit?) who are students may be help better thanme
This course or any other is NO guarantee(AT ALL) that you will get a job in the field. What is your background/relevant experience? You mention Animation in one post and then visual effects in another. What exactly are you looking to work as? A 2d or 3d artist?
A way to save yourself serious money is to spend about 5k on a copy of the software(XSI/Maya/lightwave etc) and learn it yourself...using the manuals and thousands of resources on the web. You also get free versions of all the s/w from Softimage/Alias/discreet/newtek etc. Look up their websites for the same.
<end useful mode>
You also have the option of me coming there or you coming to montreal...with that money, I'll even put you up in an apt for 6 months (apart from teaching you the s/w)
