Good one Febpreet,
Your options makes much sense but I would like to review the documentation before I follow the steps.
I will not make the same mistake as I did when I moved to Canada !

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Another major difference between Canada and Australia is the weather. It is pretty warm in northern side and you will find a wide range of weather – similar to India.

The Indian rupee is Rs. 54.50 to a USD and will get weaker by the day. The Indian stock market (so called) crashed today.
As you guys might be aware, Indians are loaded with cash, land, investments, cars, Gold etc... as on date.
so what would you recommend as the best investment in india in the next 5-10 years.
Will it be :
1. Convert everything into cash and save in the bank
2. Invest in Land
3. Invest in Gold
4. Invest in the indian stock market
5.Invest in Indian mutual funds
6.Invest in USD, Euro, AUs $ or the like
7. Run away to Australia as a citizen
8. Gulf job and save in Gold or US D
9. Invest in USA stock market
What would be the most likely and save avenue as things stand right now.
Peace

Aussies are hugely racist .... no comparision with Canadians on that front ...
Recall the riot 5-6 years back in Sydney when thousands of a white crowd was roaming around with sticks on the brown populace ... esp Middle Easterners .... Read here ...

But to the op s point ... Though in short term , Indian currency & economy is dwindling but it is bound to come up & grow manifaol over the next 10 years ...... a major infrastructual change is staring India ...... India & China are bound to grow ... These are the effects of GATT / WTO which has made trade b/w countries more free .
Investing in India in land today should have enormous growth over the next 10 years but foreign residents should invest in this arena only if they have some one who can safeguard it and do not mind converting white money to black .
For the short term however , Gold remains to be best hedge against inflation in India .

Fido.
There are 2 things here -- one is the foreign investor who would wish the Indian rupee to become cheaper so that he can buy more worth for his $$$ ...
And then there s the Indian investor who would wish to save him self from the inflation & currency devaluation .... for him Gold is a safe hedge ...
