The Army Chief Gen V. K. Singh has made the above allegation that he was offered a bribe of 14 crores, to accept sub-standard vehicles. He has also stated that the age controversy was created as he had become inconvenient to lobbyists and that he would have stepped down the same day, if his year of birth had been accepted as 1951 and not 1950.
Ever since the first Italian family became the symbol of corruption through the Bofors scandal, a permissive environment has set in every where.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The audacoius statement of lobbyists that the ones before you took money and the ones after will also take.

Sunny Leone a true Canadian DESI now back in India !.
Like the 2G, the army truck "Tatra" serial is likely to run many episodes.
Those who are interested may read Praveen Swami's article in today's Hindu titled "How Trucks Drove the Army Bribe Row".
The vehicles price is Rs.80 lacs through BEML, compared to the open market price of Rs.20 lacs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Today's news is that the Tatra truck seller Ravi Rishi of the Vectra Group is avoiding CBI questioning that they have to alert all the air and sea ports for preventing him from leaving India. May be we will have another Quottrochi.
Another news being propagated is that Tatra are the best trucks and never ever the army had made a complaint against it during the last 20 years.
Why then the Vectra Chief should go into hiding?
Also looks like the lobbyists had the backing of some one very high up in the hierarchy that they had the guts to stand in front of the Army Chief and offer him a bribe.

Does Indian army need anything from Canada ?.
May be some of us Desi's could organize it for a small fee.

Corruption is there in the army, but does not come out openly. There are kickbacks even while buying groceries, toiletories, uniforms, etc. Every ranking officer knows it well. They buy so much from outside, its east to fall prey. There is money on the table, its upto the deciding army official to take it or npt. Someday will take it if he does not. I am not at all surprised. Our system is built on corruption, so why make a big deal out of it. Remember the bullet proof vest in the Mumbai attack? Again there was kickbacks involved while buying those sub standards vests.
