Let us share something +ve in this thread about how to build better health in this summer. Please share your goals what you want to achieve in the coming months. I have 2 goals to achieve
1. I am vegetarian and currently weighing 170 lbs {5' 10"} and target is to bring it down to 160 lbs. I don't think I am over weight but still feel like 160 lbs is ideal for me.
2. Target is to do jogging/running 40 miles per week. Last summer I was able to achieve 25 miles per week.
There may be number of people in this forum who can share health secrets, food tips, what to eat what to avoid.
Please contribute to this thread and spread some +ve energy.

I think our diet is unbalanced be it Indian diet or not leading to being overweight and related other complications. We eat too much quick converting carbs like white rice, pasta, bread, etc. , and too little of good stuff like daal, subzi, and salad.

can you explain what is a complex carb and give some examples of the same?
A a tamilian I eat white rice 2 times in one day and bread sandwich for breakfast at my office canteen.
I also weigh 200 lbs. and want to bring it to 160 lbs.
Being in a hot country it will be very hard for me to excercise. In the city that I am in, there are no AC gyms.
Any advice?

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
I am overweight. My height is 5' 7" and weight is 176 LB (80 KG). I also like to reduce my weight to 147 LB.
Few things I started from last month and feeling better.
1) Drinking water as much as I can. (At least two glass before 15 minutes of dinner)
2) I used to eat too much cheese (Pizza, Pasta .... ). Try to avoid as much as possible.
3) Prefer wheat bread instead of white bread
4) Planned for exercise but not doing regularly (Whenever weather support, I go for walk and biking)
5) I eat fruits during lunch time (Apple, grapes, strawberry. I used to eat heavy indian lunch)
6) I started to take my dinner early evening (around 5:30 PM) and plan to go for walk in late evening.
Any other suggestions/advices are welcome?
