hi I was wondering if i take a flight from mumbai to dubai and then toronto and if I bring food items like mithai/namkin do the customs in dubai throw them out. someone was saying dubai allows no food items to toronto.
thanks
sophia
If it is in checked in baggage.. why would they bother about it. It is left for Toronto to worry about.

If asked at CBSA / Canada Immigration , you can inform that you are carrying processed food items and no direct meat / dairy products .

Fido.
thats right for Toronto ( I did the same, declared all the food items).. I think sophia is more concerned about Dubai.

NO ISSUE WITH DUBAI - JUST DONT KEEP ANY IN HAND LUGGAGE AND DONT BOTHER SAYING ANYTHING.
HOWEVER, TORONTO COULD BE AN ISSUE AS U ARE ASKED TO DECLARE FOOD ITEMS AND ONLY US FOOD ITEMS ARE ALLOWED... SINCE THE LAST TIME MY FOOD ITEMS WERE TAKEN FROM ME WHEN I DECLARED AT THE AIRPORT.
SO BASICALLY CHUP HI RAHNA.... MITHAI SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE AT ALL.
