Hi Everyone!
My background.......I am a Canadian citizen and I completed my Computer Engineering degree from the province of Saskatchewan in May, 2011. I have two summers of work experience in the power industry as an electrical engineering student. My courses focused in transport networks, software engineering and optics........
I have been having a tough time finding a job in my area. As a fresh graduate, it is very hard to even find few appropriate job postings. I have been trying very hard since last year, but not much of luck. Few of the calls I have been getting are mainly computer science oriented jobs. Honestly, I am not a great coder; but I have been applying software jobs as a step to get my foot into the market.
Now I am even considering to move to a bigger place like Toronto. I am ready to start an entry level job in a big city, and find a more suitable job later on. I am ready to be registered as an Engineer-In-Training once I start my work.
I am looking for an advice in general. What other strategy should I be using? Where could I be wrong? Would I have better job prospects if I am living in a bigger city? I am ready to go anywhere in Canada for my career interests.
Please advise.
