Dunno why but I find the OP to be frivolous in nature ... similar to the 'where do I get online milk ' thread a few days back .

Not everyone is successful here in Canada. I don't see any frivolous acitivity by OP.
It's not very uncommon to pile up debts very soon, specially in case of job loss (income is reduced or lost) & expenses increase or even stay the same.
What is unclear is the time period during which OP's 35k debt was accumulated.
Above all if debts are getting accumulated, with no chance of any future prospects, it might be better to live in India (after all India is a happening place now, with lots of growth & more job prospects)

Don't worry. Nobody is going to trace you in India. However, I wonder you have only $4000 in your hand and still planning to visit US for work!
It would be better if you go to US directly from Canada and if u find a better work you don't have to worry even if you file bankruptcy in Canada.

Thanks for your response, I dont have intentions to visit US as of now.

However, in future I am likely to work in US on a project.

Also, I just noticed online that the bank I own has operations in India as well.

In that case, I am concernd it would be easy for them to contact/ locate me.
