I want to sell my flat/property in India from Canada.
Can I sell it from here? I don't want to go to India.
Please help.
Thanks
arrange for power of attorney to one of your trusted relations. prefer parents. (I think papers can be sent across using courier service for signing, I am not sure though )
When I came to Canada, I gave power of attorney to my father, before starting. Later He sold off all my properties and sent the money to me, for me and my family to survive and lead a decent life here plus arrange for down payment for my house.
Thanks gemini31
Before coming to Canada, two months ago, I gave power of attorney (on Rs. 500 stamp paper) with clause of selling to my mother-in-law. Now, in last few days in Indian news paper they said if the Power of attorney is not registered than you cannot sell it.
Can I do something from here? Like if I make a new Power of Attorney from Indian embassy/consulate and send it to India.
Thanks
No more power of attorney...you must have a registered sale agreement and pay transfer tax. Seller should be personally present at the time of sale.
