Is there any limits by Canadian govt or by Indian government on how much (maximum) amount can an Individual transfer to India , in a month, year or kind of?

From what I have heard is the daily maximum for wire transfers is Rs 1 Lac. I'm sure there must be some monthly/yearly limit too.

There is no limit on sending money to India as long as it is legal and sent to legal accounts.
For illegal transactions money is sent to Mauritius and then to India for dealing with the stock market and to evade corporate / taxes.
On the reverse there is a limit as it involves foreign exchange taken away from India.
However, your institution may set a limit to send money to India. So use various institutions.
