- How can the accused moved to HC after his mercy petition has already been rejected by SC/President? It means that if HC quashes the petition, he has the right to go to SC thereby creating an infinite loop?
- Does constitution of India provide equal judicial rights (of fair trial) to foreigners?
- Why is Karunanidhi favouring the accused?
This case is just mindboggling. More than 20 years have passed since this incident and still no end.
The Chennai HC has given 8 weeks extension. Not sure how. That’s how the system works.
Karunanidhi has lost sanity. He’s 87. He said that if Rajiv Gandhi was alive, he would have pardoned them. Well, these three would not have been in this situation if Rajiv Gandhi was alive. That shows how senile Karunanidhi is. When he speaks, he mutters something that only he can understand. Back in 2000, when he was the CM, his party passed a resolution supporting the death penalty for them. Now its his double acting. After all, he is also from filmy background like the idiot MGR.
Didn't they move the court saying the 20 years delay in making a decision is inhuman? Also their petition was placed before only the home ministry and not the cabinet as is required?

Who is paying Jethmalani's fees? Who is paying lawyer fees for other two accused - is it Tamilnadu or Indian taxpayers?
Tamilnadu assmebly passes a resolution to pardon the death sentence. This is a complete mockery of Indian justice system.
Let me ask you something, these three inmates, what is your understanding about their part / role / involvement in the conspiracy...

The case with Kasab and Afzal Guru is different. They've accepted their wrong doing, the current Govt has its own agenda in deferring their sentence. That's my view.
Well, going back to the question "What is your understanding about their part / role / involvement in the conspiracy..." Are you just disturbed by the fact that the president is challenged.
Shouldn't GW Bush been challenged / refuted when he came up with the Chemical weapon secret information to eliminate Saddam and may be a million Iraqis.

That is for Indian courts to decide. I am just questioning the validity of challenging the SC judgement and Jaylalita and her "chamchas" passing the resolution to save the lives of the convicted. It gives an impression that Supreme Court and President are no longer the highest authority in a democracy.
Going by your logic, Afzal Guru or Kasab should be freed, as they were at the lowest rung of the conspiracy ladder.
