HI All
In my last 9 month in Canada i have heard all those horror stories in canada but they have one thing in common ; all tried to get a job or were in proffesional services.
I am 22 as of now and am still a student with a mind of a youngster which is tossing everywhere and knows no direction as of now and deosnt knwo where to head.
In my post " R u saving 10 Lakh " we came to a common conclusion that in Canada saving 10 lakh is not possible doing a job generally rest aside exceptional cases.
I have chucked the option for myself of doing a job in canada ; now the options i have is to stay in canada and do business ; go to USA ; dubai to do a job or return to India and join family business .In my family business i can start with a good life and good earning and have a very good setup .Saving 4-5 lakh is not a problem.
My qualifications as of now is B.com + International business graduate and think for a good job still need some more degrees and qualification getting it is also not a problem.
considering that i am 22 and ones proffesional life till 60 that makes that i still 38 years to do whatever i want to do.
I know canada has its advantages and India has its own but when i came to Canada i was never of the thought that corrpution in India is a problem ; or bad roads or pollution is a probelm .It is a problem but still i was okkey to live with it; i didnt mind it ; and the only reason why i came to canada was for more money .
As of now i dont like canada because of the culture and all but i have a big problem if i m not able to get over it soon.
Joining business seems a safe option to me but then i feel am i being myopic in life?
starting business in canada sounds a good option also but it needs capital and what if i am not able to do ; what after five years i am not doing good .
so I am in a dilemma for what should i do.

Sucess is not an accident it is a result of hardwork with intelligence.
You are young. That is an advantage, not a drawback! I do not know if you have found a job or not. If you haven't, I think it is still too early to give up. My suggestion -
Invest in yourself. Educate yourself further, which as I understand you are willing to do. Study hard and graduate (or post-grad) in a field that is in demand and more important, from a reputable university. Else, get yourself trained in some skill set that is in demand(welding/plumbing/electrician/HVAC etc). Getting a +60K job after that should not be difficult. And then follow all this up with another a most wise action. If you are not already committed, get married to a canadian qualified working nice desi girl who is earning, or capable of earning an equal amount. After that, relax and enjoy life and save more than 5 lakhs(the figure that you would achieve in India).

Hello nishitno1,
I agree with wisernow. Don't give up very soon, just by hearing horror stories in Canada. You need to understand that every coin have 2 faces. Same as horror stories, also there are good stories in Canada. Only the difference is most of the people are loud when they face difficulty and when the same person/people have a good life, settle themselves they never tell to everyone and are never as loud as they used to be when facing different difficulties.
I am in the same boat like you. Even I came to Canada on student visa. After my studies i got the job and currently working, thing is not earning good money, but at least i can satisfy myself that I have a job and am proud of me. Give some more time to yourself, invest yourself learning different skills and try to cope up the Canadian culture and you will achieve what you want, but also follow the advise of “wisernow”, that is a good advice.
Good Luck, Gujarati and still if you want any help let me know and I will try to help you.
