why are you guys so critical of Harper just based on this?
these things happen during an election campaign.
these leaders are campaigning 18 hrs. in a day and zipping from one rally to another.
and what Harper said is probably true anyway....that he doesn't organize the rallies, this staff does. this is true for all the leaders.
you can't hold Harper responsible for this.
such minor incidents happen during intense election campaigning.
i don't understand why so many desis are critical of the conservatives.
is it just because there is a general perception that conservatives are bad for immigration and liberals are good?
at this time Harper conservatives offer the best chance of economic recovery and balancing the budget while taking care of all other priorities.
don't get taken in by the promises of the liberals and NDP. during election times everyone promises everything.

For your first statement, yes. And, it's not the perception, it's true for most part. They are not interested in immigration from South Asian countries for the reasons known to everyone (European immigration, anyone?).
Exactly, for your second statement. Everyone promises during elections and Conservatives are by far no different than Libs and NDP.
The truth is when something goes wrong within any Party or an Election campaign, it's the leader who has to take the brunt. Like it or not; and whether or not he is directly involved in the campaign himself. The reason why he is THE leader and no-one else. So, the onus lies on him and him alone. Equate this with our own PM Manmohan Singh, who despite of being honest himself has to take the thrashing from opposition everytime Congress is involved in a scam.
They are being called as the Leader for something.

100% Agree...
Liberals has done soo many promises to immigrant so far but nothing has given...As soon as concervative came they decreased back log of files, speed up immigration and soo many thing and they have discouraged refugee system..and thats what it should be...
