Was M.K.Gandhi a Bi-Sexual ?

First the talk about the bisexuality of Jawaharlal Nehru and now about the father of the nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

http://www.hotklix.com/link/News/India/Mahatma-Gandhi-was-a-bi-sexual

Mahatma Gandhi was bisexual and left his wife to live with a German-Jewish bodybuilder, a controversial biography has claimed.
The leader of the Indian independence movement is said to have been deeply in love with Hermann Kallenbach.
He allegedly told him: ‘How completely you have taken possession of my body. This is slavery with a vengeance.’
Lovers? Gandhi and Kallenbach sit alongside a female companion. A new book has controversially said that the pair had a two-year relationship between 1908 and 1910
Kallenbach was born in Germany but emigrated to South Africa where he became a wealthy architect.
Gandhi was working there and Kallenbach became one of his closest disciples. .
The pair lived together for two years in a house Kallenbach built in South Africa and pledged to give one another ‘more love, and yet more love . . . such love as they hope the world has not yet seen.’
Controversial: The new book outlines many details of Gandhi's sexual behaviour, including allegations he slept with his great niece
The extraordinary claims were made in a new biography by author Joseph Lelyveld called ‘Great Soul: Mahatma Gandhi And His Struggle With India’ which details the extent of his relationship with Kallenbach like never before.
At the age of 13 Gandhi had been married to 14-year-old Kasturbai Makhanji, but after four children together they split in 1908 so he could be with Kallenbach, the book says.
At one point he wrote to the German: ‘Your portrait (the only one) stands on my mantelpiece in my bedroom. The mantelpiece is opposite to the bed.’
Although it is not clear why, Gandhi wrote that vaseline and cotton wool were a ‘constant reminder’ of Kallenbach.
He nicknamed himself ‘Upper House’ and his lover ‘Lower House’ and he vowed to make Kallenbach promise not to ‘look lustfully upon any woman’.
‘I cannot imagine a thing as ugly as the intercourse of men and women,’ he later told him.
They were separated in 1914 when Gandhi went back to India – Kallenbach was not allowed into India because of the First World War, after which they stayed in touch by letter.
As late as 1933 he wrote a letter telling of his unending desire and branding his ex-wife ‘the most venomous woman I have met’.
Lelyveld’s book goes beyond the myth to paint a very different picture of Gandhi’s private life and makes astonishing claims about his sexuality.
Revolutionary: The claims made in the book are likely to be disputed by millions of Gandhi's followers across the globe
It details how even in his 70s he regularly slept with his 17-year-old great niece Manu and and other women but tried to not to become sexually excited.
He once told a woman: ‘Despite my best efforts, the organ remained aroused. It was an altogether strange and shameful experience.’
The biography also details one instance in which he forced Manu to walk through a part of the jungle where sexual assaults had in the past taken place just to fetch a pumice stone for him he liked to use to clean his feet.
She returned with tears in her eyes but Gandhi just ‘cackled’ and said: ‘If some ruffian had carried you off and you had met your death courageously, my heart would have danced with joy.’

The revelations about Gandhi are likely to be deeply contested by his millions of followers around the world for whom he is revered with almost God-like status.
Nobody from the Indian High Commission to Britain was available for comment.

Chalo, if even if he was one, who cares? He has many better messages and if we all follow those the world would be a better place. Who really cares about his sexuality when that is not relevant at this time. Just one more way to sensationalize to sell more books.

agreed, what a bozo this guy is.
just another attempt by the white western media to malign one of the very few true leaders that India had.
even after 70 years the britishers have not quite got used to be fact that we kicked their butts and sent them home lock stock and barrel.
as far as Gandhi is concerned he is hardly relevant in today's modern India.
his grassroot politics and self-sufficient rural economy is long gone.
who cares if he was bisexual transvestite or whatever.
he kicked their butts and that is what matters.
they should just grow up and stop whining.

Gandhiji is being killed everyday whereever his principles are breached. He is welknown to forgive everyone. There are constant research done across the globe to defame him.
Still he is considered as one of the greatest leaders of the world who is wellknown for his simplicity, nonviolence and truth.

Really? Wishing a violent death upon his niece while preaching and practising unflinching non violence his entire life...hmmm. It takes a big piece of sh*t to write this kind of sensational stuff and an even bigger POS to get it views by posting a link to it on a forum like CD.

I don't moderate the forum anymore, but would request the mods to reign in this pest VandeMataram before he infests the entire forum. He has grand illusions about his intellectual capabilities and his insane cut and paste routine on CD is annoying at best . Most of his "original" posts point to loose screws and his cut/paste is usually aimed at stirring the sh*tpot for no other reason than to get him some attention.

Peace :D

I read this on the news website BUT did not bother to re-think even for 1 second and quickly moved onto the next news topic.
People write/type/speak any shit..... Please don't waste your own time into these craps. We can write pages and pages if we start arguing on such topics. we rather move onto something good for ourselves and for others.

One more thing, I liked the face of this forum when I joined about 6-7 years ago, the face of this website was totally different than what it is now. It was more about helping desis to settle in Canada and talking about life/issues/difficulties/solutions in Canada, which undeniably is still here today, BUT now, when I log into CD I feel more like I am reading a news website. Please don't make it a news website.... if you really want to comment on a news topics then all news websites have comments section right under any particular article you are reading.
Posting an important news about our native (or any other) country is OK for once in a while. BUT these days our home page is full of news topics, which I don't like, I have already read most of the news I read on this forum.....
Anyways, this is my opinion, others may think differently.

I agree - most of Vande Mataram's posts are cut and paste links and news which mean nothing on CD ...... Such posts just add irritable waste to the forum .

CANADIAN DESI IS NOT A NEWSPAPER .... and there s a news section where people can go and read the news .......
