Hi,
I'm a new immigrant arrived 3 months back in October from India- Mumbai.
I'm in a state of confuse where after coming here and hearing all post and talks about job- career- life and family, as to do what.
my Indian status - i had a business of graphic design and communication- which was growing and fetching me good money.
I have my own office and house back home. While I was planning to come here I have managed to keep my business working. Its still going on a little slow but yes its still fetching me money.

my canada status- After landing here I luckily got a job in my field in a week or so, as a graphic designer. Not so great place but yes its the same field which is important.
$ 14 to start- but thats okay.
my wife and kids had also come with me and are back home in india right now. they would be coming here in summer now.

after hearing all post and the struggle that everyones gone thru and the achievement they have achieved i am thinking will i be able to do this- or am i ready for such a struggle? also Istill hv my INdia status alive which I believe might be on for 2 - 3 months, after which it will be difficult to keep it survived without me.

what I want people here to guide me as to what should i do and is the struggle worth it?
I'm like all indians hard working-believe that i surely have the qualities but what i did see around my field - there are only the white canadians that run all design studio's and advertising agencies ( successful ones) and there are very few immigrants( not indian who have studied here) are hired in the creative department. I might be wrong- this is what i have explored in 3 months.

But I'm open to people who can give their views and suggestions.

Do you want to work as an employee in Canada or be in charge and run your business in India? You may open the same business in Canada but you will be starting from scratch again.

What prompted you to come to Canada? If you thought you will make a lot more money and we remove it from the scenario because it may or may not happen, do you still have enough reasons to stay in Canada?

my reason to come here were 2

one is i thought lets explore if i could in the west where its good future for kids which i still agree, there's lots more for me too like living- which i believe u miss in inida. enjoying living is important which is here for sure but to support you need a good job thats it!
my second reason was i had a secured position in inida so risking it was never a problem.

now i have a different way of looking at things after 4 months
going thru complete struggle is what i had heard and was prepared bfre coming, but now i feel will it be worth and can i be that successful here what i dare to dream in inida while running business. i hv grown at every stage of life in career but here i might be going thru complete once again or might be stagnant too since here its all about earning and not much about careers , i hv started evaluating it.
business or job - any is okay but what matters growth-money and satisfaction are important

when i meet people for interviews i try seeing it as this is what i did in india well and people appreciated. here they may go for another candidate thats okay but do i have enough †hat i can standout different in the crowd?

i hv never believed in quick bucks- money comes when u put efforts but u enjoy the money when u do what you like and u get an applaud for your work.
i hv never thought to make money and take it back inida. if i stay here the money stays here with me to live and enjoy. india has enough so i dont need to transfer.
