One of the areas are the multi million $ home area around Bloor street and Royal York road.
Target Million $ homes where there are more likely to be bigger decorations for Halloween as well as it is a time when these multi millionaries throw parties for their neighbours while dispensing Candies to the children.
All the best.
Peace

I have just moved to new neighbour hood and heard from neightbour that we will be getting around 100 kids on hallowin for trick or treat...

just wondering if you guys have any idea to what to give other than candies?.////\

How about tricks instead of treats? The kids did give you that choice, afterall...

Anyway, walmart carries these 94 pack box for $15 or so dollars. They have more attractive chocolate bars like Mars, Snickers, Kit Kat, etc instead of junk sugar hard candies. Hand them one bar and if the kid asks for two, trade a nice one from their collection.

meanie: I think each kid warrants 2 mini chocolate bars..... at least if they have made the attempt to dress up. those that dont..then yeah. one.

:)

This is Canada. Nothing is free. The kids need to learn that fact even at the "ripe" age of 15 months.

Two years ago, I made channa vadas and me and my neighbor across the street (who is widowed and lives by himself) did a "communal" treats on my porch while enjoying the vadas. My neighbor is a Czech and he relished my extra spicy vadas.

Anyway, We had a blast trying to hand over channa vadas to the bewildered kids. Who says the kids deserve only politically correct treats.

True, however in today's fear climate and worries about predator and such, its more likely parents will throw away any 'homemade' treats and just let the kids eat pre-packaged chocolates/candies/gum.

what do you think??

I disagree. There are things which are free. On the other hand, there are stuff here which you will have to pay (like lose your life savings by immigration , if you are not in IT, Finance, High Tech business and the like). Free stuff is like consultation w/ doctor, juice/cookies/cakes at some banks, free food banks etc.. Even the govt. will give you free welfare, HST credit etc...

The police could very well catch you if you dispense vada's and stuff like that. Either you dispense packed stuff or donot mess with the established practices. The locals donot like it and your good deeds may come to haunt you later.
Peace
