Dear CDs
Thanks for the support Cds has been providing for beginners
I would like to share a good news to all CDs. I got selected for a engineer job in Montreal & i have to report to work Nov. 1st
I'm currently staying in Gulf & i am PR of Canada, landed in Toronto end of 2008
My concerns are as follows:
1. Can i land directly in Montreal (considering montreal falls in Quebec different rules for immigrants)
2. How much salary shall i expect/negotiate (Engineer position with 10 years experience)
3. How much is the Tax in Montreal (i heard it is more than Toronto)
4. I do not know anyone in Montreal, my job location will be University, Suite ., which place is good for the living considering desis neighbourhood (Planning to bring my family alongwith me)
Appreciate if anyone of the desi could help me in finding a apartment
Thanks in Advance
Better you land in Toronto and drive to Montreal.
When you say starting date of your job, dont your salary is yet final?
Tax may be higher but routine cost is less so all balanced.
do you mean Rue university in downtown?
For newcomer in Montreal, Parc extension is better area to start with. Jean talon, jarry street has reasonable aparments.
Thank u very much for the response
Actually i am also planning to cargo some household items (Aprox. 400 kgs). If i land in Toronto, then how can i move with this items & luggage to Montreal???
Please advise??/
Any reason why? He is a PR not landing first time.

With assumption that family has not yet landed and without CSQ its hard to convince quebec immigration that because of job, they have decided to live in Montreal on permanent basis.
