some of you guys might be knowing this already ....I have just signed up their one month free trial offer....though not a huge titles but $7.99 per month I think it's not a bad deal ..anyway if you don't like you can cancel within 30 days free trial .....quality is pretty good when I have hooked up via PS3 ...this is compatible with nintendo WII and selected blurray players as well(Xbox will be compatible soon)..

Some of the good Indian titles are included ..I was happy to see the "Harishchandra Factory" and "Rajneeti "real DVD quality...

The first thing you should check is the bandwidth allocation from your ISP (Rogers/Bell etc). Most of the common hi-speed plans have bandwidth restrictions ranging between 40-80GB. Streaming is only feasible if you have
unrestricted bandwidth, because then you will have peace of mind that you will not be paying extra.

You don't want to be shocked when you receive your monthly internet bill.

Teksavvy is a great alternative and provides both DSL and Cable internet in the GTA. Their standard alocation is 200GB.

Bell usually has a cap of 60 GB but their surcharge is also maxed at $30.
So if you are able to get all those movies and TV shows and get rid of your cable u will still be only paying $38 a month.. Not bad.

You would have to buy a Playstation in each room i guess

Thanks guys for your feedback/comment

dfwrp:Like I have mentioned earlier, NetFlix Title lists are not great ..atleast at this point ..so you can't cut down cost by swtching off Cable TV :)

If your ISP usage is 200GB or kind of unlimited then only it will be cost effective ...

The launch of Netflix in Canada will almost certainly represent the final nail in the coffin of Blockbuster and mom-and-pop movie rental stores.

yes you are right atleast you needs ISP usage about 200 GB or unlimited usage through acnac or other providers.

See the below answer from thier website.

How fast does the movie or TV episode start playing?
Fast - movies and TV episodes start playing in seconds. It will depend on the speed of your broadband Internet connection. Movies and TV episodes are streamed over the Internet, so you don't have to wait for them to download. Watching for 1 hour will use approximately 1GB of bandwidth and approximately 2GB an hour if you are watching HD. You have the option to set your account to "no HD" if you'd prefer.

I calculated and found this unlimited Netflix is only good for people who rent a really high no. of movies per month, say more than 10. Considering one watches 2 movies per weekend, it comes to 8 movies per month which cost on an average $35-40 if renting from Rogers or Blockbuster. Now, on top of it you need to invest in a game console, Xbox360 or PS3 each of which costs about $250. In addition to that a 125GB internet connection for about $50.

So, apart from one time investment in Game console (for non-gamers it would be an itch), one would be shelling out approx. $110/month. Let's admit that we will not disconnect our cable. This would be your monthly expense to watch unlimited movies/programming: Cable $50 + 125Gb internet $50 + Netflix unlimited membership $8 = About $110 including HST.

If you are the one who watches an average of 1 movie per weekend, then renting would be about $20-25/month. For fun sake, anybody heard of Torrents for downloading Hindi movies?:D
Netflix is certainly not a good deal for a low to average movie watcher in my opinion.

Do your math.
