Desi #1 - looks like you had not visited India after 2003, ten years before even the pillars of delhi metro were not there.
You should know that spitting/ shitting/ peeing in public place is national hobby of Indians in India. They have this unwritten fundamental right provided in constitution. And they derive powers from it. It is unfettered and goes unhindered. Right to spit/ shit / pee is public places is implemented in India at virtually all places.

Nope, I was there earlier this year. I have visited 8 times since 2003. I have enumerated that I have seen.

Who is there to make it dirty ? Indians only, few years down you will see people spitting pan there. Dirty toilets with buts and spit everywhere. Old habits die hard, people still spit in delhi metro, they have imposed a fine, but who cares ?. Cant change.
Can feel proud if both Indians and India changes and not only by India changes.
I would have agreed with you if I had not have seen Delhi Metro....it is almost 10 years operational....and it is still sparkling clean. It is 100 times better and cleaner than TTC or NYC Metro...
100% True...
I recetly travelled with delhi metro(Connaught place to Noida City centre route)
It's way cleaner/spotless & beautiful than any european metro or TTC

How about facility of bar, disc, dance bar, hooka bar, snooker room,GB Road room, de/addiction room- do they have made any provisions.
I don't know when we stop comparing India with Canada or any Western nation. It's not even funny anymore and hence quite exhausted at least on this board. Treat and talk about India in it's own respect and perspective. Just like any individual or human being, a nation should be compared to itself and it's own progress and not by someone else's. Look at what India was about 10 years ago and where is it now. One should give it to India that despite of all the issues, it's growing rapidly and attracting the whole world's attention (evident from G20). Imagine if the corruption is gone and politicians become more accountable, where could it be. Admit, it's a distant dream but still. I believe if you (or any nation) can dream it, you can do it.
I am proud at this Indian achievement. I hope they soon get (or aspire to be) an equally efficient state machinery, ranging from a small time Airport Janitor to a Bureaucrat. But, we are getting there slowly and I am proud at even a small Indian achievement while at the same time not comparing it to any other nation but it's own self.
Jai Hind!
Did any one compared Canada- India here
I could not see it.
