Hi All,

I am SAP certified FICO functional consultant with 5 yrs. exposure to SAP consulting (Implementation, Roll-Out & support projects), and 5 yrs. in Accounts and have got Permanent Residency and planning to move to Canada shortly.

I have posted my resume to some of the Canadian job portal but I did not get any response. So, Just wanted to know that how is SAP job market in Canada and what is good location for SAP jobs.

it would be great if anyone can forward me placement agencies details and details of persons who are working in same field.

Thanks.

Tamilkuravan - Can you please update on SAP job market in Canada and about yourself too for the benefit of all desi's? Have you managed to get job in SAP HR field? Is it still right time to go for SAP course?

Thogh the Debt crisis virus is spreading thick and fast not only within European countries after PIIGS but to Asian, African, South american, US, and other countries too.

Japanese Govt using Sex To Sell Japanese Government Bonds : http://www.cnbc.com/id/37641280/
Top 10 worst economies - World's worst economies : http://www.forbes.com/2010/06/08/zimbabwe-ghana-congo-nicaragua-business-worst-economies.html?boxes=Homepagelighttop

It is plausible that the world’s largest and second largest economies are about to enter a real bond crisis and soon the Greek tragedy may very well take a back seat.

Look forward to hear your expert comments.

Thanks,

I am currently working on a very large SAP Implementation in the GTA area.

60% of the team has been sourced from India. This keeps the cost for the Consulting firm and the client very low.

This is the major reason why Immigrants who come here cannot find jobs in the SAP market.

At the moment the is everywhere and hence killing the market.

You might have the best skills and experience but you cannot compete with a person who is willing to come here all expenses paid at half the pay.

AksCanada is in the business and hence his word is better than mine.
It is hard to get a job in SAP without any realtime experience, and that too being a desi. For example, if a SAP guy from TCS gets $ 30 an hour by the company hiring him and you say that you will do it for $ 20 an hour, the company will still not hire you as the company can always demand replacement for bad candidates and they still would go by TCS as TCS provides a package service.
Another option is to join TCS in India (very easy when you studied in Canada, PR /Citizen of Canada, speak accent english and ready to give the cash the interviewer wants) and then ask them to transfer you to Loblaws Canada (where SAP is done) and other organisations. Get 6 months real time experience and then move to telus or HP etc.. or even to USA (much much easier)
As indicated elsewhere, you might try testing (if already not in SAP) as it is a lot easier and has good oppertunities (but lower pay than SAP).
Once USA recovers, SAP HR is bound to boom like hell!

Peace by TK

TK,

Sweet dreams ?.

USA recovering ??????????????????????????????.

The oil spill in gulf has buried that thought long time ago.

The cost of the insurance payments will bury the insurance industry in North America for the next few decades.

Today Greece bonds were reduced to junk status by the Moodys, while Japan is also on the Greece path.

Already Spain and UK are there near the edge.

The only shining stars are India and to some extent China.

May be with the Trillion Dollar find in Afghanistan the next wild west or the promised land will be Afghanistan for Desis.

US of A will never recover to the 2007 good days.

Listen to me guys - I know hotels which have been booked 100% here in the GTA all by consultants from India for SAP Projects.

It works out much cheaper for the companies and the clients.

Unless the Canadian Govt wakes up and does something serious about the situation people will not find jobs who are genuine immigrants. They will keep giving away their job to another guy from India.

Our Govt as usual is as slow as possible.
