Hello : I need guidance for my cousin in India. After 12th she is considering B Pharmacy. Hows future of B Pharm in India (specially for girls) ?
Some1 told her opportunities for girls in that field are limited ? Is that true ?
Is it career worth pursuing or CA is better option ?

P.S. : I know it its totally a personal choice and decision and interest but over all I am asking possibilities in both careers.
Gender is not an issue. If that's what the kid wants (from her heart), let her go for it. More drug companies are doing good business in India. People get sick and they need medication. May be B Pharma plus a MS in Pharmacy from UK/US/Canada, then there is no stopping for the kid!

I disagree with Kumar M.
We are over supplied in India. B.Parm is not at all a good profession in India. Avoid being a doctor, nurse, pharma person, lab technician, physio in India. They are the most lowly paid professions there unless you have the connections / business. However, it is just the opposite to that for the Gulf, Europe and NA. Those are the most highly sought after professions here. If the girl has an inclination to Pharma and then do higer studies / immigration / marriage to overseas, then it is good that she takes pharma.. Please note that Indian pharma is the most difficult course to upgrade / get certified in NA and Europe and costly too. Nurses are the most easiest.
The following are hot in India now :
1. IT
2. Bio Tech
3. Architecture
4. MBA
5. Chartered accountants

TK, thats the thing , if she goes for b pharma thinking that she will come to canada but what if for some reason she can not come ..?

It is recommended that she does courses deemed as safe courses. These courses will not only ensure that she gets married to the right person but would also entail that she can work (with out much problem) whereever she chooses to.
The courses are as follows :
1. Bio Technologist.
2. Nuclear Engineer
3. Environmental Engineer
4. IT
5. Chartered accountancy
6. MBA (IT or Finance)
Some other courses with some conditions are as follows :
1. Nursing (defenitely worthless in India)
2. Doctor (worthless for Canada. Status in India. Good income for, Gulf Europe and USA)
As of now, I would recommend her to do IT and then do a MBA. The future is IT and Teleworking (as Oil is not expected to last forever)
