Canadian in passport fiasco
Humiliated by immigration staff

A Toronto woman coming home from India says she was pulled aside at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, accused of using a fake Canadian passport, denied consular assistance and threatened with jail.

In tears and desperate, Berna Cruz says she told U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) officers she didn't want to go to jail. She told them she had to get home to her two children and was expected to be at work the next day at a branch of a major Toronto bank where she works as a loan officer.

Instead of jailing her on Jan. 27, an INS officer cut the front page of Cruz's passport and filled each page with \"expedited removal\" stamps, rendering it useless.

Very sad story. These American officers are always having suprime mentality and once they decide something they don't listen to anyone.

I don't think our PM will say a word on this. And nothing is going to happen to that US INS officer.

We poor colored people!

well the truth is that americans target specifically " brown " coloured people. there IS racism going on at the airports. people are humiliated and stripped of their basic rights. many celebrities from our own countries have faced these problems. many of them were invited to some conference or something. a indian writer of renown said that he had never felt such humiliation before and he would never go back to US. a pakistani jouranlist and the member of a famed american scholarly thinktank was pulled up roughy and jailed with other criminals in a jail when the politicians at that institution found him missing they got him out. that guy was a pretty well known, respectable person who had been to US many times before. he said that he would have to think again before coming back to US for a visit. well we can complain and cry but there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.

I know a person who was denied entry at Buffalo US border. This gujju guy has lived all his life here and been to US thousands of times in last 30yrs. This time he was denied entry because he was jobless....as he got laid off 2 weeks back. US Immi. authorities took photocopies of his canadian citizenship ID and driving license and told this guy not to try re-entering without the proof of employment in canada!!!
ISN'T THIS INSANE??

the best thing is to plan and be prepared for the worst and visit usa only if u r in need.

yaane ki canadian passport ki koi value hi nahi hai.....kya faida itne paise kharch kar ke vahaa aane ka.....us se to bahetar hai ki India mein raho.
