Hi experts, I am looking forward to pursue studies in Accounting/Finance. Please guide me with some Accounting/Finance studies, not CGA or CMA at this point of time but of course any Accounting studies that can be helpful if I would like to pursue CGA or CMA later. Is there any good courses available by evening colleges/online/distance learning?

Please help
Thanks

Athabsca university

http://www.athabascau.ca

This online university is recognized by both CGA/CMA.

CMA does not recognize courses taken from most colleges.

I strongly recommend the CMA if you don't have an accounting background for the following reasons:

- requires less effort and time when it comes to studying
- slightly more "prestigious" in Ontario
- better job opportunities

I absolutely agree. However, it might cost much more than CGA but it is worth time and efforts.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with CMA but what I am concerned about right now to search for 1 year of studies in Accounting/Finance and later get the benefit of this while going for CMA. I mean about some credits I may get.

Any comments?

Thank u.

Why not enroll in the CMA Accelerated Program ?

http://www.cma-ontario.org/index.cfm?ci_id=7618&la_id=1

"The topics covered in the Accelerated Program are: Intermediate and Advanced Financial Accounting, Intermediate and Advanced Management Accounting, Taxation, Corporate Finance, Strategic Management, Operations Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing and Internal Control.

The Accelerated Program material is covered in 22 lessons plus 4 tests, divided into four modules and delivered through either full-day Saturday lectures and by distance learning over seven months."

Thanks everyone for the inputs. All appreciated.

Seems like nothing available for short term that can help while going for CMA later. Finding matching job while SLP is not easy and this is what I heard. Any inputs on this.

thanks again
