http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/794687--car-salesman-on-trial-for-fraud-came-with-high-expectations?bn=1
When Shahid Sheikh arrived at Airport Nissan in February 2006, he boasted he could “sell a lot of cars” because of his ties to the Punjabi community, says dealer general manager Mark Romeo.
“He came with high expectations,” Romeo told a Brampton court Tuesday. “He knew a lot of people in his community, lots of immigrants.”
Romeo said he became a bit concerned and “surprised” when Sheikh, a.k.a. Sean, sold only one car the first month. But his sales grew and he was averaging about 14 deals a month until he was suspended on June 30, 2006, after Romeo learned the HSBC bank believed some of his deals involved fraud.

Another instance of how Indians bring a bad name. Though most of us in CD are educated professional immigrants (who will never do stuff like this), these isntances give all of us a bad name. We are painted with the same brush of being crooks.
First of all Canada invites us and then we get no job. No wonder people have to cheat to survive here. But then the local Canadians donot understand the cause of such acts (or they pretend not to). It is a double edged sword.

The news article you have mentioned does not say anywhere that these guys are of Indian origin ( we can assume that one guy Ranjit, might be of Indian origin). When you express you opinion, please do not do it on assumptions.

TK: Unfortunately, like several times before, there are big gaping holes in your story.
Like RESP said, nowhere is the word mentioned. Looks like you don't know that part of pre-independence Punjab is in Pakistan.

Then again you say " these instances give all of us a bad name. We are painted with the same brush of being crooks"......... . I have lived here for over 10 years, and haven't come across someone say that all Indians are crooks. If you have heard someone say that, I am sorry for you.

About your statement " Canada invites us and then we get no job. No wonder people have to cheat to survive here............ Canada did not, repeat DID NOT invite you. You came here of your own free volition. Then to say that it is OK to cheat because you can't find work, is a shame!

It sounds so much Bollywoodish, where the hero (junior Amitabh Bachchan) steals because his dad is out of work, and his mother (the quintessential Nirupa Roy) is sick..

I am sick of this logic. Maybe you should turn to the scriptures which say that to cheat and steal is wrong.

Certainly there is life beyond this forum, but it does not mean that one should not express his/her opinion on posts.... after all it is a FORUM... right?:)
