You ask a very good question.
Its important to look at the job target first, then work backwards from there (ie/ what training is needed to achieve that goal/job target).
A person with a strong math background can do well in Actuarial sciences, working for a research firm. Contact some research firms and find out what type of training/backgrounds they look for and what they would recommend to someone with a graduate degree in Math. They will hopefully make recommendations in line with what the industry is looking for.
Finance/accounting is another strong field for a numbers oriented person.

Thanks morning_rain for your reply.
I will sure get in touch with some research firm.
What kind of exact research are we talking about here?
I think i will focus on core technical skills rather just computational skills like just getting SAS course and than again stand without any experience in market is tough...
I know as I am IT person, those SAS, SAP etc require to have experience alongside to knowlege of software, than only you can find better jobs.
I will rather go for some core course first to gain knowledge in that area and then upgrade the skills with tools etc..
Do any one know of any research firm name or some company where can I get started to inquire would help greatly..
thanks for all replies.
