1. Denial of insurance to those with pre-existing conditions.
2. Increase in premiums by up to 40 percent.
3. Denial of insurance when an insured falls sick with life threatening illnesses like diabetes, or cancer.
4. Cap on life time or yearly coverage.
5. Denial of cap on out of pocket expenses by the insured.

I guess I might have pissed off you in past and hence you take this opportunity to hit back with distortion. Anyone who has followed the debate in USA will know that the problems listed above are universally acknowledged by Dems and Rep. Their solutions differ. Republicans believe that creation of 54 new agencies and subsidizing health care WITHOUT balancing the budget will lead to huge deficits which the future generations will have to bear. My first posting on this clearly provides the facts which supports the fear of sky rocketing deficits in future.

You may not agree or understand the fear of large Govt. that Americans have . USA has been a prosperous country for last many years because they did not go on the path of socialism that European Govt. have travelled. Ultimately people of the USA or for that matter any other country have right to choose the kind of Govt. they want. That is the precise reason that many Democrat Congressmen were against the Obama bill. (You would agree that they do not hate Obama). Critisizing some one's policy is not hatred. It is a healthy way of pointing out the defects in policy. I do not have hatred towards Obama or MMS or India.

Now that the bill has passed narrowly, November elections will decide whether people in USA liked the bill or not. Wait till then.

You clearly repeat the lies of the far right. The republicans were willing to believe the CBO, when they in power, passed bills in the senate and congress. Now that the same CBO says that the health care bill will actually reduce the deficit, they WON'T believe it.

Now this is not about being left of the center or the far right - it is about hypocrisy. No matter what you believe in, all that talk of "higher taxes", "death panels", "pulling the plug on grandma", "Socialist medicine", "Government takeover of health-care", "obamacare" is nothing but far right propaganda

Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Reich Minister of Propaganda said "“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The far right is a staunch believer in this Goebbels theory and practices this religiously.

What are the solutions the republicans have offered in the last one year? They have been nothing but the party of "NO". If you watched the debate in the congress yesterday, John Boehner the minority republican leader started his speech with "NO WE CAN'T"........... That speaks volumes for their "solutions".

By the way, the bill passed without any republican support, but it would interest you to note that the current bill HAS over 100 republican amendments. What would you call this but being bi-partisan? If Obama did not believe in being bipartisan, the bill would have passed months back.

This is not about a leftist agenda, or your being a far right fringe element. It is about the truth.

Hey I just forgot. You conveniently forgot to pick up the gauntlet and reply to this:

Can you please explain why it is OK for any insurance company to do this to an insured person?

1. Denial of insurance to those with pre-existing conditions.
2. Increase in premiums by up to 40 percent.
3. Denial of insurance when an insured falls sick with life threatening illnesses like diabetes, or cancer.
4. Institute caps on life time or yearly coverage.
5. Denial of cap on out of pocket expenses by the insured.

45000 Americans die every year because they have been denied coverage, or have been offered insurance that will not cover life threatening illnesses

A similar number go bankrupt every year, because insurance companies keep jacking up insurance premiums at their whims and fancy. About 15000 people lose their homes over their medical bills and insurance premiums.

If you believe this IS RIGHT, what else can I say that I pity your pitiless soulÉ

No I did not forget to pick up your gauntlet. I did mention that both Dem and Rep agree that the problems listed by you are there. The difference is in solution - more regarding ideology. Rep. believes that market forces and regulations can fix this. That has worked for USA for generations. Dem. believes that Govt. has much bigger role to play and should interevene - more like European Govt.

I believe in small Govt. - like our dear PM Harper who has successfully navigated crisis. That does not make me inhuman or Rep. monsters.

You have not picked my gauntlet. Go to my first posting on this topic which speaks about the deficit in social security payments much earlier than projected. Fears are that Healthcare will result in same kind of unmanagable deficits in future , reason being it is difficult to predict future and CBO's projection are based on certain parameters provided to them.

Debate about ideology is not unhealthy in any way. It is ultimately people of the country who will decide. Let us wait till November. In Canada, we have conservatives in power for last 5 years and they most likely come back to power with majority. Does it mean that majority of Canadians are bad? Small European economies are going bankrupt (popularly known as PIGS countries) due to socialistic policies - bigger Govt without balancing budget. Such a policy may pay dividend in short term (20-30 years) but has repurcusions for future generations. I love my kids and would not like them to bear the brunt of debt repayment and lower economic growth and hence opposed to Obama. If this makes me monster and you an angle , that is fine with me.

US healthcare is not as bad as people make it out to be. People don't get thrown out of emergency rooms. There are serious problems with US healthcare just as there are serious problems with Canadian healthcare as well.

If you had a choice, would you step into a govt hospital in India? Govt run healthcare depends on the govt of that particular country. In certain societies pvt sector works well and in others govt does ok. Each place has its own unique requirements.

Imagine US govt running healthcare like it runs it other social programs. Social Security, education, medicaid(!)....

I find NIGHTMARE's posts full of lies, half lies and distortions. May be he does believe (like Boehner and his clan) that you can continue to tell lies till people believe it to be true.

Remember what Abraham Lincoln said : You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time'

As for the fear of the November senate elections, I or any left leaning democrat would hardly be worried. I will say here what the right wingers have been crying hoarse " The people have spoken". Besides it is not always about retaining power... Seven presidents have tried to reform healthcare in the US, so far, and failed.

No matter how you right wingers want to view this, it is a victory for Obama and the left. History has been created, but wait.............. this is only the beginning.. We will soon have a "public option" and then a "single payer system". We won't rest on our laurels till that is done.

As for the right wingers, you guys have to find a new punch line.......... no one believes in "death panels", "government takeover" "obamacare" and all the BS.

As for you, I am assuming that, since you are so opposed to "socialism"..

1. You do NOT live in Canada, which is the best example of a socialist society.

2. You do not visit walk in clinics, or check into emergency rooms because these are products of a socialist agenda.

3. You return child care benefit and HST/GST rebate/refund checks to revenue Canada because these come from subsidies.

4. Your children do not go to public schools because socialists like me subsidize your kids education through higher taxes. Instead you send your kids to private schools.

5. You do not use the library system, the parks, or any recreation center because these are run or maintained by higher taxes from socialists like me.

If you answered "NO" to any of the above, it makes you a nothing short of a hypocrite. I don't have a problem with your being a hypocrite - after all there are millions of them around.

The question would be : Do YOU want to be one of them?
