I heard his programme live on radio yesterday and was delighted that he has completed 10 years on air in Canada.

He mentioned that he came to Canada from India about 11.5 years ago and he was an Engineer working for the Government in Punjab.

When he landed here he was doing some odd jobs and at the same time continuing with his passion of singing Kishore Kumar songs.

He later realized that there is an opportunity to start a radio show here in GTA and thus started Asian Connections and this has expanded to a larger time slot of 11 AM to 3.00PM.

His co-host Ms.Raina Sen has gone to Africa since last few months.

He has managed to add a few good persons in his programming like Dr.Lamba and Thakkar Saab.

He realized his Mechanical Engineering and his past experience was worth nothing here while he wanted to take his passion of light music singing and make something out of it. He was dissuaded by his near and dear saying that he is wasting his time and he should pursue his path in Mechanical Engineering.

Today he has no regrets of pursuing his passion and he has grown to have his Asian Connections Magazine both in English and Punjabi. I think he has discontinued his Asian Connection TV show, while he pursuing his radio show, making jingles for advertisement and performing live shows with his orchestra.
He also has managed to release his CD of Punjabi songs in Canada.

He has also created a good rapport with the key officials and politicians in Punjab Government and he is using them for the good of the punjabi community in Canada.

He is another success story and the key element is that he did it in a field of passion and Not of education or experience.

May be the only thing left for him is act in a Punjabi movie.

The most impressive thing about him is that he has a strong Indian nationalistic feeling and he is not for the typical separatist propaganda. Many a times when he is attacked by his own people he gives them right back on air without thinking about the consequence.

May be we should recommend him for a Padma Shri by the Government of India or even an award in the next NRI meeting to be held in India.
