India succumbs to Chinese pressure on Arunachal - MMS selling India in bits and pieces.

MMS, the wily fox, has Indians fooled. He has proved that one can Fool ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.

This joker has succumbed to China. Now, China has huge export to India on which no duty is charged - Refer to L & T CEO's public statement on this. India sells Iron ore at dirt cheap prices to China which in turn sells finished steel to India and at the same time does not allow TATA to expand. MMS has virtually conceded Kashmir to Pakistan and Jehadis at the instance of Obama. Obama's only concern is to cut and run out of Afghanistan and hence pressurizing India.

MMS and Kangress of Sonia has proved beyond doubt that they have no patriotism. I hope BJP which is inert will sqeak and we should watch other parties like NCP, DMk and Samajwadi party for their reaction.

: ore is sold on international price metal index.

: neither congress nor BJP is less patroit.

Anyone who is patriotic AND has human values. You may be one if you have these qualities. MMS has neither.

How about you being a little bit more patriotic than being a spokes person of BJP?

How can I think you are being patriotic when you leave India to immigrate to another country (and renounce India's citizenship!!) and then criticize about MMS?

Atleast MMS didn't leave India and immigrate elsewhere like you did.

There may be other reasons why Indian government wants to fund projects with their own resources. A lot of projects in sensitive areas are secretive in Nature and this avoids Indian government revealing details to outside parties

By extension of logic you are also not patriotic as you left India! Well, for me, I do not believe that leaving India in itself is unpatrotic or being in India is in itself patrotic. But this is not topic of debate. MMS's shameless acts of supporting China and selling India are easy to trace by googling.

Please read Ratan Tata's letter to PM and still in 2010 MMS has kept pace of ore export.

With the Indian Political Parties more concerned about the Vote Bank Politics than the future of its people whatelse do you expect to happen other than to see China gallops and strangle India economically.

It has already controlled the Head by throwing the Royalty out and the only Hindu country in this world. It has been replaced with a pro-China friendly Maoist government.

It has already grabbed India by its balls by controlling Srilanka and will control the flow of ships around the southern shores around Srilanka. They already have built a USD $3.7 Billion Seaport with a SEZ in Srilanka. They can manufacture stuff cheap and dump it into India and control Indian economy.

Already the Maoists are very active and they are being funded by the Chinese and the secularists like Karat and company Communists visit China for orientation training for future control of the Indian subcontinent.

CHINA WILL CONTROL INDIA ECONOMICALLY WITHOUT SENDING A SINGLE SOLDIER AND ALL THROUGH OUR OWN INDIAN CITIZENS ON THEIR PAY ROLL.

The Chinese have set up a company in Bangalore to learn the business models of our Indian companies to replicate it in China.

In regards to MMS he seems to act as a US agent and has recently relocated his key guy who opposed the Indo-Pak talks as the Governor of WestBengal and had the talks using SS Menon and what was the end result of the talks ?.

Nothing Happened.

Looking at this news in a positive way we will have the YOUNG, DYNAMIC, WELL EDUCATED, WELL READ, EXPERIENCED, WELL QUALIFIED & SON OF INDIA SHRIMAN RAHUL GANDHI as our next PM very shortly and he will lead the GOI and the Congress Party of India to next level of security, social/economic development and also a Super POWER like China.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.They have started controlling the Arunachal Pradesh borders and the Evangilists are now shit scared that if they are put under the Chinese rule they will be relocated into main land China and will be replaced by Han Chinese.

2.The guys who went from PoK and created trouble through the Islamic Ujihirs in China have been caught and HUNG, which India will not dream about doing.

3.Recently a tamil actor called Jeeva (aka Ameer Chowdhry a muslim) wanted to go to China for a tamil film shoot and was denied visa by the Chinese government while another actor called Simbu (Hindu) was given visa for the same film shoot. China is very careful about issuing visas to Indian muslims.

4.Our borders will be safe from terrorists who intend to do harm to India by the Chinese Naval patrols.

India Worries as China Builds Ports in South Asia

Gemunu Amarasinghe/Associated Press

February 15, 2010
HAMBANTOTA, Sri Lanka — For years, ships from other countries, laden with oil, machinery, clothes and cargo, sped past this small town near India as part of the world’s brisk trade with China.

As trade in South Asia grows, China has been developing port facilities like this one in Gwadar in the southwest of Pakistan.
Now, China is investing millions to turn this fishing hamlet into a booming new port, furthering an ambitious trading strategy in South Asia that is reshaping the region and forcing India to rethink relations with its neighbors.

As trade in the region grows more lucrative, China has been developing port facilities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar, and it is planning to build railroad lines in Nepal. These projects, analysts say, are part of a concerted effort by Chinese leaders and companies to open and expand markets for their goods and services in a part of Asia that has lagged behind the rest of the continent in trade and economic development.

But these initiatives are irking India, whose government worries that China is expanding its sphere of regional influence by surrounding India with a “string of pearls” that could eventually undermine India’s pre-eminence and potentially rise to an economic and security threat.

“There is a method in the madness in terms of where they are locating their ports and staging points,” Kanwal Sibal, a former Indian foreign secretary who is now a member of the government’s National Security Advisory Board, said of China. “This kind of effort is aimed at counterbalancing and undermining India’s natural influence in these areas.”

India and China, the world’s two fastest-growing economies, have a history of tense relations. They share a contested Himalayan border over which they fought a war in 1962. India has given shelter to the Dalai Lama, who fled Tibet as China exerted control over it. And China has close military ties with Pakistan, with which India has fought three wars.

But the two countries also do an increasingly booming business with each other. China recently became India’s largest trading partner, and both have worked together to advance similar positions in global trade and climate change negotiations.

Chinese officials deny ulterior motives for their projects in South Asia. And top Indian leaders have tried to play down talk of a rivalry with China, saying there is enough room in the world for both economies to rise simultaneously.

As recently as the 1990s, China’s and India’s trade with four South Asian nations — Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan — was roughly equal. But over the last decade, China has outpaced India in deepening ties.

For China, these countries provide both new markets and alternative routes to the Indian Ocean, which its ships now reach through a narrow channel between Indonesia and Malaysia known as the Strait of Malacca. India, for its part, needs to improve economic ties with its neighbors to broaden its growth and to help foster peace in the region. Some of the shift in trade toward China comes from heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, which has hampered trade between the two countries. But China has also made inroads in nations that have been more friendly with India, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Moreover, protectionist sentiments have marred India’s relationships with its neighbors. South Asia has a free-trade agreement, but countries that are part of the pact get few benefits, economists say, because India and its neighbors refuse to lower tariffs on many goods and services to protect their own businesses. By contrast, the countries of Southeast Asia have minimal or no duties on most goods and services that they import from one another.

India has had some success in establishing closer ties with Sri Lanka, with which it has a strong bilateral trade agreement. But China has become a partner of choice for big projects here like the Hambantota port. China’s Export-Import Bank is financing 85 percent of the cost of the $1 billion project, and China Harbour Engineering, which is part of a state-owned company, is building it. Similar arrangements have been struck for an international airport being built nearby.

Sri Lankan officials want to turn Hambantota, which was devastated by the 2004 tsunami and is the home constituency for President Mahinda Rajapaksa, into the second-largest urban area in the country after the capital, Colombo. (It is the ninth-biggest today.) The government is also building a convention center, a government complex and a cricket stadium.

Sri Lanka needs foreign assistance to make those dreams a reality, because the government’s finances are stretched by a large debt it accumulated in paying for a 25-year civil war that ended in May. In 2009, the country borrowed $2.6 billion from the International Monetary Fund.

Mr. Rajapaksa has said he offered the Hambantota port project first to India, but officials there turned it down. In an interview, Jaliya Wickramasuriya, Sri Lanka’s ambassador to the United States, said the country looked for investors in America and around the world, but China offered the best terms. “We don’t have favorites,” he said.

Still, Sri Lankan officials have refused to disclose information that would allow analysts to compare China’s proposals with those submitted by other bidders. The country has also kept private details about other projects that are being financed and built by China, including a power plant, an arts center and a special economic zone.

The Sunday Times, a Sri Lankan newspaper, recently estimated that China was involved in projects totaling $6 billion — more than any other country, including India and Japan, which have historically been big donors and investors in Sri Lanka.

Harsha de Silva, a prominent economist in Colombo and an adviser to the country’s main opposition party, said the Sri Lankan government appeared to prefer awarding projects to China because it did not impose “conditions for reform, transparency and competitive bidding” that would be part of contracts with countries like India and the United States or organizations like the World Bank.

Other analysts say China is winning big projects here and elsewhere in the region because its companies offer lower costs. Chinese companies are also competitive because they have acquired a lot of expertise in building large infrastructure projects in China, said Jerry Lou, Morgan Stanley’s China strategist.

In 10 years, Chinese companies have become the biggest suppliers to ports of cranes used to move shipping containers, displacing South Korean and Japanese companies, he said. “They are running at very high efficiency and at the lowest costs,” Mr. Lou said. “China is a game-changer, rather than a new player in the world’s construction industry.”

India is starting to respond to China’s growing influence by becoming more aggressive in courting trade partners. India recently signed a free-trade deal with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and South Korea. Officials have even begun talking about signing a trade deal with China to bolster exports.

India’s chief trade negotiator, D. K. Mittal, acknowledged that the country’s economic ties with its neighbors were not as strong as they should be and blamed political distrust between the countries. But he said leaders were now determined to improve economic relations, something he said was highlighted in a recent agreement with Bangladesh.

In that deal, India agreed to sell electricity to Bangladesh, provide it with a $1 billion line of credit for infrastructure projects and reduce tariffs on imports. Bangladesh agreed to allow Indian ships to use a port that is being redeveloped by China. “The political leaders have to rise above and say, ‘I want this to happen,’ ” Mr. Mittal said in an interview. “That’s what the leaders are realizing.”

PRAYING & WAITING FOR A MIRACLE TO HAPPEN TOMORROW: 9th March 2010 in New Delhi, India.

Having daughters and I'm totally convinced that women are better than woman.

But the society does not let the women to have equal opportunity to compete with men.

If women come to power we will have less wars and more peace. Do not counter it with Jayalalitha or Benazir Bhutto. They were the wrong type to reach the top slots. They have to take that role to counter Musharraf or Karunanidhi.

When there is a hope for women in terms of Women's Reservation Bill in the Indian Parliament this has happened.

If any bill is pro - Woman than does it become anti minorities ?.

With nearly 500 million women shouldn't they get an equal opportunity in India ?.

With India having the BIGGEST AFFIRMATIVE ACTION program in the world what is wrong with women also getting an equal opportunity ?.

As the saying goes , when a girl gets educated her family gets educated and hence whole society gets educated.

Every self help group sucessful in the world is being run by women, eg: Micro Finance schemes in Bangladesh or in Africa or India is all run by women.

Please read for yourself the pathetic state of affairs in India:

Only miracle can save the women's bill now
March 08, 2010 23:39 IST

was shock within the non-Congress Members of Parliament to see how the government remained inactive within the Rajya Sabha when the Women's Reservation Bill was tabled on Monday.

Only a miracle and government's sincere political will can keep alive the bill tomorrow.

On Monday morning, the government was blessed with the majority inside the House to pass the bill; and still the government didn't use or failed to use the opportunity.

The women's bill could not be passed due to absence of any visible strategy and tact on the floor of House by the government. Critics say this could be the result of sabotage within the Congress.

Although, there are no proofs of internal sabotage yet, but it's a mystery why the government didn't prompt its members to demand action against disruptive elements before the lunch-break?

Clearly, there was a disconnection between the United Progressive Alliance [chairperson Sonia Gandhi's dream of passing the women's bill on a landmark day and political class' reservation against it. Government came under tremendous pressure from this class once Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav took the centre-stage.

Congress party is stoutly denying any charge of the opposition, but surely damage has been done and it is left doing damage control. Their desperation to clear their name is quite evident. Jayanti Natrajan, spokesperson of the Congress, said agitatedly, We have to run the government also.

Arun Jaitley, leader of Opposition, told rediff.com, When I met Prime Minister (Manamohan Singh) in Parliament today in late afternoon I told him that we are ready to support you, we are ready to vote at 6 pm. You have to locate only 8 MPs who were engaged in disruptions inside the Rajya Sabha. Once they are withdrawn from the House, voting can take place after the debate.

PM Singh heard him and merely said, Thank you.

Jaitley has alleged, Congress' intensions to pass the bill are suspicious. Government has developed cold feet. Government is nervous.

Now, many Congressmen who are supporting the bill are blaming a section within the party, who were always against the bill. They think that this section silently worked out their strategy. They say that many old Congress hacks will lose their well-nurtured constituencies if the Women's Reservation Bill becomes Act.

There are many Congress MPs who are winning from the same seats since the last four or five elections. Under the women's bill, one third of the Lok Sabha seats will be rotating after every election.

This makes most old guards nervous. More than half of the old hacks will find themselves without suitable constituencies. That means well-entrenched and powerful fat cats of the Congress will see women's bill robbing them of their estate. Such monumental legislation was opposed within, but these dissenters remained silent, and were relieved to see the government failing.

 The Bharatiya Janata Party supporters are saying that Muslim MPs of many parties are absolutely against the bill, because 181 seats every election will be reserved for women, if the bill becomes an act.

Already, some 131 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes. So, out of the 543 seats, chances of having Muslim MPs will be restricted to some 312 seats.

This is a dramatic reduction of opportunity and power base for the Muslim political class in the country. Under the new dispensation, Muslim MPs feel that the chances of Muslim women getting elected from the reserved seats will deteriorate further, because there are not enough Muslim women in public life.

:( Most of the Muslim political parties of Kerala and other states have opposed the bill.:(

Behind the scene, a large section of the Muslim community leaders, along with the OBC leaders, are pressurising the government. They are also helping the opposition to raise their voice.

Congress spokesperson dismissed such allegations, saying that government is still very serious and it will try once more to pass the bill, tomorrow.

PM Singh is scheduled to meet Lalu and Mulayam on Tuesday morning.

Some critics say that Congress was in a hurry to corner the credit and put it all in Sonia Gandhi's bag. There is a section in the opposition parties who are jealous or just irritated of Gandhi family's ever-increasing clout in Indian politics. There are many who would not like to strengthen the myth of Gandhis by giving them one more huge achievement in form of this historic bill.

However, on Monday, the Congress would have known how unpopular it is amongst non-Congress political class.

The dislike for the Congress was evident in the harsh statements of Lalu Yadav and Mulayam Yadav.

A non-Congress MP from Tamil Nadu said, Today both these Yadav leaders have turned a hero in their constituency. They were losing ground, but they have won the day and won the hearts of OBC voters.

He said, There is no point naming them rowdy or violent. They have done their job in sync with their vote base to oppose the bill. The government have allowed them to turn hero by not taking any action to contain their disruption.

Today, it was observed that PM Singh and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee were going slow when fast action were required to push the bill, because Mulayam Singh Yadav and Lalu Yadav seemed bent upon withdrawing the outside support to UPA.

That would have given touch of instability to the government, because the majority of UPA would have reduced to single digit. Government will have to take care of the finance bill, which will come for approval in the Lok Sabha soon.

BJP MPs claim that 'aggression' in the Rajya Sabha was not as intense as seen many times before. As soon as some members misbehaved, they could have been controlled. But, if the Congress had taken some tough action inside the RS by moving the petition to chairman Ansari to take action against the members who had been violating the norms inside the House, then the government's maneuvering space in the Lok Sabha would have reduced.

By evening, when the things turned bad to worse, the women's bill was pitted against the finance bill.

Then, Congress's allies -- Nationalist Congress Party, Trinmool Congress and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam -- also prevailed upon the government to go slow and defer the voting. Some leaders of the Left parties alleged that Mamta Bannerji (TMC chief) is worried about the impact of women's bill on Muslim supporters, so she was also willing to defer the voting.

However, one wonders of his own, why Chairman Hamid Ansari did not take any action when some members attacked him?

The indications are that the members of the Rajya Sabha will debate tomorrow Railway budget.

There are many guilty men behind failing of the women's bill. But, anti-climax came because government lacked political will to ensure voting today itself.

There are some hard lessons of the day. UPA in its second avatar has faulted again. After the debacle of the Telangana issue in December 2009, the government is cornered again by its rivals.

Its so surprising to see that the Congress did relatively better when it had 141 seats. Now it has 206 seats, and fresh experience of ruling the country between 2004-2009; but its authority is not expanding proportionately. Monday's event has shown the government its limitation. And, no government likes their ego getting pricked like this.

:cuss: The supporters of the women's bill have no option but to wait for miracle, on Tuesday.:cuss:
