Massive Job Hiring going on in India !
Based on my conversation with my friends, relatives and also from the newsmedia I'm realizing that India Inc is on a massive hiring spree.
The amazing thing is that guys who did not have a single offer last year are flooded with 4 to 5 offers in January 2010.
The biggest news is that the Satyam has recalled its virtual pool engineers totalling about 2000 along with new hires.
Something is cooking in India and hope it flows over to North America.
Any personal experiences ?.

On a related note, here is a tweet by Anand Mahindra.
"
Recvd mails frm presidents when I landed re record Jan sales fr vehicles, tractors, scooters&used cars(1stChoice) I shld go away more often!"
India Inc is on the move right now. Even more than ever.

That's right. Things are looking up well with India Inc. Big players in IT and ITES are hiring. MAY BE its better for willing NRIs in US to pack up and move rather than wasting their time and energy on contract jobs.

The plan is to get your bags packed and ship you along with them to India first.

Absolutely right ...India Inc is on a hiring spree and definitely on a roll. We got back from India a fortnight ago. Whilst there, we touched base with friends who are now holding senior positions with huge pay packages, even middle management has salary figures unheard of when we left India. Placement agencies too have very good hiring companies in their portfolios..

Yes, companies are on a hiring spree in India, especially IT, ITES, Banks & Fin companies, and the pay structures are also mind boggling. During my recent visit to India, I touched base with my friends and x-collegues in various IT Consulting firms, and yes, salaries have gone up like anything, however keep the following things in mind before you jump to any conclusion:
-You are expected to work from 9 to 9, leaving at 5 or 6 PM is frowned upon. There is a lot of strees and pressure. The companies are not going to pay you big money just for the heck of it. If they give you 2 lacs a month, they will extract work value of 50 lacs from you, so its not that easy.
- Everything is target oriented, failing to meet your targets leads to termination. Remember, you dont have any \"EI\" to fall back on!! I know of people joining the private banks from nationalised banks because of the money, and then losing their jobs because they couldnt keep up with the work pressure/targets. Same with ITES/IT Consulting firms.
-Corruption & Pollution (with P in caps). This time the worst thing that I faced was pollution, specially in the cities like Delhi and Calcutta.
-Driving was a nightmare in the cities. The first day, I tried to drive like I drive here, but since nobody gave a s**t about the road rules, so I switched back to my Indian driving mode
-Inflation.......everything is expensive, prices are going north rapidly, including basic food prices.
That's how it is in India now, take it or leave it

If prices are going north then south should be ideal location to relocate. Or may be if someone can wait a bit - prices might just manage to climb himalaya n topple over...

Good comments Sumjo...
All of them very true. I recently came back from a trip to India and noticed the following:
1) Yes pay packages are high but most people have no life..they cannot indulge in their hobbies and have no balance in their life.
2) The coffee shop culture has caught on and Barista is a huge hit...it is always packed and the prices are high....Rs 100 plus for a cup of coffee. But still no place to sit.
3) Generally the younger generation has sky high expectations and want to live a lavish lifestyle without putting in the effort...short cuts for everything.
