Many of the links are under development, but you can still get the feel.
Interesting - in the pictures section - the first few pictures are of Anjali Junction which was named after a cinema hall there - no longer exists, but the name lives on.
Can't recognize the city from the pictures any more. Moved out in 2002, last visited 2004.

Thanks to Narendra Modi for massive devlpoment in 8 years in all over Gujarat.
Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat.........
I am just back from there last week. It is amazing to see Amadavad getting transformed into a world class city. There are challenges, many challenges, but they are overcoming each one of them one by one.
It is hard to alter existing cities, built pre automobiles, and the way China tackled Shanghai and Beijing, I guess would be a good model for any Indian cities.
At present Amadabad is too dusty - lot of construction work is going on everywhere. Another 2-3 years and it would be a different story. Wide roads, many ring-roads, fly overs, the river front, Kankaria, sky scrapers, and many more.

I was in Amdavad in Nov for an hour. I was impressed with the change. The Bus system they have made so far is very good. the city is definitely changing and if NM stays in power for another 10 years the whole of Gujarat would be one world class place to live in.

This shows how a single person can inspire the whole government functioning body. This is the project by the City of Ahmedabad and the way they have approched is excellent. Just two years ago I got an email from some-one with graphics of proposed BRTS and in this winter I saw BRTS in action. Amazing pace for a country like India where projects takes years even to start!
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation officers should get equal credits as NM. Entire BRTS project was executed by AMC, very few responsibilities were on state government.
