I have made 2 short films and uploaded to youtube. The links are given below. Would appreciate if you could watch them and give your comments.


1) This is a 2 minute silent film made like a cartoon.It was shot on an old black and white film camera and edited manually using scissors and scotch tape.

2) This is a 7 minute documentary about the Harmonized sales tax that will be implemented in Ontario starting July 1, 2010. The idea is to educate people abt the tax and also get public opinion.

Bravo. Excellent effort.

The accountant spoke way too fast and it could be hard for non-indians to understand his comments, not because of his language but his pace.
Seven minutes is a good amount of time to cover this issue, few slides such as who really benefit from this and who is affected, who resent with this would've helped, I hope you could easily push it in. This will supplement the ambiguity of the comments from the Accountant.

Also, if you could add a slide such as the provinces and territories who have already implemented and who have not should also add additional details in another 15-20 seconds. "A picture (skit also) worth of thousand words"

Thanks for the feedback guys. I wll try to incorporate some of your suggestions. Few more facts abt the film below;

1) I acted, directed and edited the silent film. The idea was to make a silent file that should not exceed 2 minutes and should make a interesting view. I realized that the acting was a bit exaggerated, but I could not find any other way to make a 2 minute silent film interesting.

2) I only directed and edited the documentary. I tried to get an accountant with much smoother accent but towards the end the guy who agreed for it first backed out and so I went wtih my accountant.

The theme is that, the protagonist needs something really bad and he is given couple of obstacles before he can get to it. Running out of coffee powder and the coffee making not working are the obstacle. I made it as a dream sequence thats all.

The second one is a good effort to explain HST but may be it was filmed before November.

There is no extra tax on buying coffee at a shop less than $4 (slide shown at 2:50 in video ) or newspaper (2:26 in video)
