Hi,

I am new to the forum. We are moving to Maple at the end of this month and are looking forward to connecting with desis in the area. Also, if anyone has a good day care to recommend for my son (22 months), it will be great.

I have been living in Vaughan for over 5 years now and have seen the desi community grow larger - specially Gujratis. However, Vellor Village and the area has traditionally been an Italian area and desis are not so conspicuous.

We have a reasonably good desi network within 1 sq km and I am sure you guys will soon be able to find desi families. We live at Dufferin Hill community (Rutherford/Dufferin).

The only problem is Indian grocery stores - one at the junction of Centre and Dufferin. There is another Pakistani one at Maple but nothing else that I have come across.

We will be moving close to Keele and Teston (just above Maj mac). Its great to see so many active desis in the area. We were just a tad concerned about moving to a predominantly non desi area.
