I got project in 07 good time indeed & without job since may09.surviving on EI. I know lot of People are on the same boat.Based in montreal so cannot take jobs which are mostly french.
What alternate jobs should I look for & how people are coping with daily routine without job.I am really getting frustrated now & sometime think I have become so useless .

Thanks for Your inputs

Are you open to relocation anywhere in Canada (maybe India as well)? If so, you should open up your search to a wider area.

Are you able/willing to try careers outside of your "normal" occupation? If so, you should give it a try.

As much as I would personally prefer not to, you could engage in part-time work while ensuring you leave some flexibility to continue your job search. The drawback of these jobs just to earn income and keep some routine is your resume may not reflect well when you actually are looking in your field. But, it's a matter of personal preference.

IT Guy,
What is your background? is it SAP MM, SD, HCM, SRM,CRM, HCM, FI, CO, BI, BW, BO Etc...Etc.....? What is it.
Please be more specific.
SAP is one of the best softwares in the world and I am doing SAP HCM.
Come to the GTA (Toronto). We are the best SAP employers in the whole of Canada. If you want I can get you a teaching job at the instutute which pays $ 2000 for 60 hours and classes are held on sat. and sundays.
There are so many companies that hire for SAP in the GTA and outside it. However, the demand these days is a bit less as companies prefer to contract out the job to TCS, Wipro who in turn provide manpower in Canada. But SAP demands is always there for experienced people. It is surprising that you are frustrated with a profession that pays $100 per hour at the min. and as much as $250 an hour even in Canada.
Send me a PM or e-mail if you wish to know future oppertunites or as well as insider information in many SAP companies in the GTA and beyond.

Thanks for Your Inputs,I am certified MM/PM consultant with more than 8 Yrs of exp. I think gone are the times when You see $100-150/hr rate its tough out there now spl. when lot of whites are trying for same jobs.
there are very less jobs coming & competetion is hard .
I didnt come across many opport in GTA but Alberta is still ok but they prefer only local guys.
Good luck for Your certification but as you know pattern is changed now ,Questions will be scenario based & if all answers are correct U will get full marks no partial marks .

thanks

To earn that much u must be very exceptional. And for sure if u r such an intelligent guy to deserve such a pay then u will not be looking for a job.

Thanks for the info..
But if there are oppertunities in Alberta, then why are you still staying in Quebec. For citizenship, you can go to any part of Canada and still be eligible.
Also PM is in very high demand. Recently the the institute that I study had 2 people from Saudi Arabia come to Toronto to study PM (plant Maintenance). We could not find anyone in the GTA and so they were taught at the institute by webcam.
if you want, send me a PM and I can send you all the institutes that are hiring in the GTa and you could call and ask them for a job.

Peace by a PD
