If you noticed two days ago, Google's homepage had a very special logo to celebrate the discovery of water on the moon by America's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
That's all very well, but why is everyone missing one vital point - INDIA's ISRO-powered Chandrayaan-1 discovered water on the moon, two months before NASA did!

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
Because Google is an American company and is displaying its support and pride for its fellow countrymen. As long google didn't go about claiming that "we" were the first, nothing wrong is being proud of its country's achievement. Maybe it is not an achievement for somebody else since the americans weren't the first, but maybe it is, for the Americans and google.
I don't believe NASA is taking credit for India's find - as your subject line suggests. NASA is taking credit for its own crash and find mission.

This is Media, our $tupid Indian Media was busy to criticizes end of Chandrayan -1(ones ISRO lost communication), some $tupid news on bollywood and miss NASA conference about confirmation of elevated water molecules and hydroxyl.
NASA conference on Sep 24th was cover by US media with manipulation that it was all about NASA and waters not a single word about Chandrayan-1, other side they may be right as M3 payload was design by JPL through NASA, and collect data when MIP hit on moon.
At the end whom to blame? Indian media or

Water was found by NASA’s Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) which India carried aboard Chandrayaan for NASA. Chandrayaan carried five Indian instruments and six foreign instruments including M3.
If India had found water using one of Indian's own instruments then you can say US or NASA are stealing credit.

Yes it is the Indian media that is creating this fuss. Lets say even if our sats did own water discovery, what are we going to do with it. I personally think Indian scientists should think of finding water in India to save agriculture and save fertile land from erosion. This should be the first step and then finding water on moon makes more sence. Why build castles in air when we can't on ground? Anyway's just my thought.
