OCI passport - suitable for banking etc? any offshore banks accepting only OCI ppt?

Hi all,
Just wondering whether the OCI passport is a standalone document i.e. does it make a reference to the Canadian passport.
Query arises from the perspective of banking. Is the OCI passport acceptable for opening a non Canadian bank account? or would one need to submit the Canadian passport as well?
Do you know of any offshore banks which accept only the OCI passport for account opening?

OCI card is not a passport, hence I suspect it will not be accepted anywhere other than India. As far as India, based on info I read on ICICI website (India), OCI card may be accepted at ICICI along with the non-Indian passport.
