Hi All,
After living in Mississauga for about 7 yrs, when I decided to upsize from a condo to a house, I was surprised to see how expensive the real estate market is in Mississauga these days (yes, in the midst of the recession of this centuary) ....
Any how thats not the question... I have decided to move to Brampton for that reason alone... and have narrowed down to a property here close to Chingcousy/william pkwy area.... I am in need for sincere advice from all those who are familiar with this area .... all plus/minuses.... mostly minuses.... My main points of concern are community and schools in this area....
Your responses are eagerly awaited
Thank you all

Low property prices were the reason I moved to Brampton from North York and chose it over Mississauga, over thre years back. However, I am looking at moving to Mississauga next year. I dont mind downsizing to a semi or even taking a larger mortgage. I think it's worth it, given the amenities.
In terms of schooling, please refer to this link which gives a ranking of the schools in Brampton.

High schools in Brampton have mediocre scores. There is only one Public English school which has a score of above 8.
Compare this to Mississauga High Schools

Any first hand experience on the James Potter Elementary school ?
Or anyway I can find more about the performance of this school?

Here is a rating of James Potter based on Grade 3 and Grade 6 tests. Below the provincial and Peel board average for reading and math and slightly more for writing

Actually the point is... we have seen countless number of properties both in mississauga and brampton .... this house in brampton is so nice (looks from inside and out) that other houses we saw dont stand even close to it .... in order for me to get simillar house in mississauga I think I will have to pay approx 120k more.... and now after having seen this house, it is (emotionally) so difficult for us to settle for a small semi in mississauga....reviews about this area from my friend circle also is not that bad....
Now the question that we are debating is... is the community/school in this area so bad (comparatively) that we should disregard the quality of the house altogether and think of just Mississauga?
BTW, I just have to decide by the end of the day, otherwise I will not get his house .....
Thanks for your views...
right person to advise you is Mr. sameer dhawan 4162788443. He knows brampton real estate in and out and also mississaugua. Tell him shobhana has given the number, he was most helpful to me.
